So if im going to embrace the skinnies i know ballet pumps are thee footwear to be wearing if its too warm for boots, sadly ive never been able to get on with them before they either are too big and rub my heel when i walk, or too small and crush my toes and cut the skin at the top of big toe and thats just walking around the house! im a size 6 feet and have 2 pairs in a 6 and one in a 5, the fives crush me, one pair of 6's crush me and the other 6's way to big, two pairs are from new look and one from george ive never been able to wear any out of the house so end up in my bootcuts and plimsolls :( can anyone recommend a good place for them or know what im doing wrong in my purchasing it seems everybody else can wear them!

oh and i dont like showing my toes so thats why im so keep to make them work rather than opt for sandals etc

Land's End. Really. Search "ballet flats".

BettyandDon · 09/08/2012 10:52

I used to swear by Kurt Geigers - the range they had about 3 years ago, but I bought some recently and the quality is much poorer. The leather is thinner, seems less padded and the bottoms of the new ones scrap on the floor and soon get holes.

I'm watching in case I see any others just as good. The old pair I bought lasted 3 years.

fishybits · 09/08/2012 10:55

M&S pretty pumps. I've got size 41 feet that are as flat as a flat thing after years of working in bare feet and I love my pretty pumps. Very comfortable.

AgathaFusty · 09/08/2012 10:56

These are fabulous.

QuenelleOJersey2012 · 09/08/2012 11:04

I have these Vagabond ones and absolutely love them. I find most ballet pumps too flat, like walking barefoot. These look especially great with skinnies or cropped trousers.

BettyandDon · 09/08/2012 11:18

I'm liking the look of the hush puppies, they even sound comfy. I would like others in different colours too though...

MyinnergoddessisatLidl · 09/08/2012 12:48

Puma Ladies Ballerina

I know it's not the obvious choice but Puma do a great range of womens ballerinas. They are extrmemly comfortable to wear for day to day.

Plus there is 10% off at the mo!

AmberNectarine · 09/08/2012 12:59

Banana Republic 'Ashley' flats are excellent, they have memory foam in the insole!!

LaBelleDamesansTurkey · 09/08/2012 13:11

Hush puppies

MadAboutHotChoc · 09/08/2012 13:32

Clarks - sounds like you are a size 5 1/2 and Clarks sell these in half sizes.

monkeysmama · 09/08/2012 14:01

Banana Republic, Topshop and Sam Edelman. Bloch are very comfy too and sometimes go on sale at TKMaxx.

Keepthechangeyoufilthyanimal · 09/08/2012 14:05

I could have written your post! I have searched high and low for pumps that are comfy but they seem to not exist!
(either that or I have strange shaped feet to everyone else or something?!)

However, I bought some from H&M last week for £14.99 and they are lovely and soft, really comfy! Very pleased so far!

RindersGoesForGold · 09/08/2012 14:09

Bloch. Expensive, but I love them. Last year TK Maxx had them for under £30. This year I have been buying from Sarenza they quite often have good discounts.

polyhymnia · 09/08/2012 14:27

I Wear them a lot and have them from Pretty Ballerinas (tho they are rather ££), Hobbs, L K Bennett, Geox, and Boden. All very comfy and not too much toe cleavage. The Boden with 20% off or on sale are the
cheapest of those.
Have in past had some from M and S Autograph but their cheapest range of ballet flats is too thin and un-supportive for me.

LadyWellian · 09/08/2012 14:49

Thanks to this thread I've just ordered some in the sale at French Sole. I'd been meaning to look them up for a while. Will report back when they arrive!

The Kurt Geiger ones are almost invariably not made of leather, and I object to paying that much for plastic shoes.

ameliagrey · 09/08/2012 14:49

Ditto- but add to the problem narrow feet.

The problem is that ballet shoes have shallow toe areas. They are really not good for your feet.

The best I've found are Clarks- not exactly top of the pile for style- but passable and have decent soles.

everlast · 09/08/2012 14:56

thank you ladies will have a look through these links, amelia - that may be the problem i have really long toes! but my feet are wide too

LaBelleDamesansTurkey · 10/08/2012 08:20

Camper are good for narrow feet but ££££

AgathaFusty · 11/08/2012 23:39

everlast - I have skinny feet with really long toes too (long enough to cause merriment to family and friends) and the hush puppies are the first I have ever had that are comfy around my toes.

DonaAna · 12/08/2012 05:30

Narrow skinny long feet and long toes here, size 40.5. For comfort reasons I only buy rubber-soled. The best: Zara, Wonders, Vagabond, and the ultimate best - Stylesnob. Remember insoles - they sometimes help if shoes are too loose.

PrinceRogersNelson · 12/08/2012 06:41

If you go to boots and buy the scholl party feet heel gel things, then they shouldn't sleep off your feet. Just stick them in the heels and it really helps. Can't link I'm on my phone. :)

SleepyFergus · 12/08/2012 06:57

I can totally recommend these from Clarks.

www.clarks.co.uk/p/20351634

I have black patent but they also come in matt black or leopardskin. They have 'cushionsoft' soles so v comfy. I'm usually a size 6 but ended up with a 5.5.

I also have these but I. White and ran from last year. V comfy too. I know they're not a ballet flat but they look nice on!

SleepyFergus · 12/08/2012 06:57

Sorry, that should read 'in white and tan'

Himalaya · 12/08/2012 07:14

Ballet flats are the shoes of the devil. They look like they ought to be comfy, or at least comfier than heels. But every pair I have ever had has been like walking on glass...will follow up on some of these suggestions though. thanks folks.
