Cod what is this about don't do cardis? I rememebr you saying some black frilled hem monstrosity from KEY was really nice :) I thought it was for grannies :)

Anyway I am with you on the velevt jeans. Personally I would get a cab so I could wear heels or wear boots for snow walking and have heels in my handbag :) As you know I love my shoes and any excuse to wear my fave sparkly sandals or whatever.

IMHO you cannot be over dressed, It is far ruder to be under dressed :) So I would go velvet jeans, nice sparkly top and heels (cartoon ones if poss :) )

Enid

When I was PG DH deserted the marital bed as well, I missed him, so we comprimised, he was allowed to sleep in the spare room, as long as he set his alarm for 6.00 a.m and came back into the marital bed for cuddles.

LOL at lack of flat plate etc., when we first moved in together we had friends around for dinner, the afternoon prep was going swimmingly until I realised we did not have enough plates, K & F etc........... Cue mad scramble into town.Grin

if she is a real hoot, sounds like a great night out.

agree about dressing up, dressing down can be a bit of an insult to your host. getting glammed up can be a compliment to them.

I've never been asked, or felt I need, to remove shoes at a dinner party.

Make sure what you wear is comfortable though - after all those second helpings, that you can't politely refuse!!!

In this house you get the kitchen table.( must get curtains for the dining room)

Chicken in a cream and smoked garlic and gruyere sauce with new potatoes and veg, with sticky toffee pudding to follow. Copious amounts of wine and cheese and biscuits if you are lucky.

Would that be too much for you COD ? Grin

Enid · 03/03/2006 11:14

ooh I did chicken savoyarde (chicken in a gruyere, white wine, cream and tarragon sauce) with new pots and salad. Then white choc and lime cheesecake with raspberry COULIS Grin I called it sauce on the night though Wink
