I am getting a pair of converse for my birthday from DH (hooray!) and I can't decide between

Most of my clothes are dark denim, black, pink, white, grey marl or a combination of the above. I live in jeans and t-shirts as I am on maternity leave, so a nice pair of cons seemed like a good idea for mucking about in the park etc in.

The leopard print is because I will be 35 so am having a shoe-based mid-life crisis and want a pair of actual real converse (like da kidz wear, innit) to stop me getting these , which are the most comfortable shoes in the universe and look like straitjackets for the feet of those who have decided that the aesthetics of footwear is a red herring (apologies to anyone who has them, I'm sure they look ace on you but they made my feet, legs and arse look weird, even though they felt gorgeous on). I have no idea what I'd wear them with, but certainly not jeans, which is all I wear. So, not an option. And the black version looks even worse. Sorry, that was a bit of a digression.

I'd have the leopard ones - you can never see the tops of my Converse so the others would just look black. Plus - zip! The lazy bugger's Converse, I like that a LOT.

Ooooooh I can contribute something practical Lady at playgroup appears to have a wardrobe of converse but said the zips are a bit wank if you have narrow feet. She has to lace up fairly tight and that apparently buggered the zip.

A I don't usually like animal print but those are quite neutral and they'd go with a wide range of clothes.

Aw, don't worry, I missed quite a lot of it due to actually giving birth! DD is 5 weeks now and very ace: she is huuugggge and has an absolute mop of hair (photos on profile).

I will def get the shoes, although now that I have tried them on in Schuh ("No, I don't want to actually buy them, I'm just wasting your time. My husband is going to get them online.") I suspect that the zips are less functional than decorative.
