It's great for my dds knotty fine hair but doesn't work on my thick hair

FauxFox · 27/06/2012 20:42

Yes.

BloooCowWonders · 27/06/2012 20:43

One dd loves it, the other hates hers!

Straight vs curly?
Or older vs younger dds?

I quite like it for smoothing down my hair.

I have lots of fine hair and now that it's dyed it tangles...may invest in one but it's £££ for a bit of plastic

Yes but not on EXTREMLY tangled hair as mine was when I got home after operation.

RandomMess · 27/06/2012 20:47

I like it, less painful!

AnnaRack · 27/06/2012 20:47

We have one that we share between 3 of us cos they are £10 Shock but yes it does work, especially on fine, wavy, tangled girl's hair.

GrapesAnatomy · 27/06/2012 20:47

Dd has thick straight hair and she loves hers.

bluecarrot · 27/06/2012 20:49

It didnt work on DDs thick, wavy hair but lots of her friends love it. Ive used it on a friends daughters hair and it worked beautifully.

ggirl · 27/06/2012 21:39

hmm thanks..will wait unitl next month perhaps..have just ordered mega expensive bra

puggirl · 27/06/2012 22:11

It's fabulous. Definitely invest in one. A friend got me one as a gift, no more struggling to drag a wide tooth comb through my tonnes of wavy, fine hair that looks like birds would nest in after washing it Smile

MonaLotte · 27/06/2012 23:39

I have very tangly highlighted fine hair and it works well for me.

TheCraicDealer · 28/06/2012 00:04

I laughed at "mega expensive bra". What is it?! Does it do the washing up? Will it give you breasts like Gisele Bunchen? I must know this!

I've got afro hair and I use mine when my hair is wet and has conditioner on it........it's brilliant. Also is better than a normal brush for my 2yo DD's wavy hair, makes her hair look silky and shiney Smile

CoteDAzur · 28/06/2012 07:57

It's brilliant for DD's long and very curly hair. We had tears at every bath time before we bought it. Now it takes seconds to comb through her hair Smile

Belo · 28/06/2012 08:04

Excuse my ignorance... I use a tangle tamer on both my DDs hair. That's the best brush we have found so far (better than the super expensive Mason Pearson one my MIL bought the DDs). Are Tangle Teezers different? We have lots of hair brushing hysterics in the mornings so am forever in search of a miracle!

HeartsJandJ · 28/06/2012 08:42

Tangle Teezers look like a horse brush in that you hold it flat in your hand and it doesn't have a handle - I don't know if that's different from your Tangle Tamer?

I think they're definitely worth the money if you have tangly hair. It is really good at getting the first comb-through done quite painlessly. DD's hair can then just be done with a brush. With mine I do have comb it through with a more traditional comb to get all the tangles out.

On the whole I would recommend it but I don't think it is the total answer to tangly hair.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 28/06/2012 09:09

DD has shoulder length bobbed hair, which is very fine and has a bit of wave in it, the front ends seem to get very matted (she sucks and plays with it) and the tangle teezer is useless for that part, gentle use of a wide toothed comb is all that will sort it. Once the knots are out it's great for giving it a really good smooth all over though. It also makes DS's short thick wiry hair look really smart.

My hair is fine, wavy and lots of it (just below shoulder), the tangle teezer goes through it ok when wet (but so does a wide tooth comb), but I have to use the comb first when its dry. We all prefer it to a conventional brush once the tangles are already combed out. So, it's a great brush, but not terribly good for knots and tangles IMO.

RamblingRosa · 28/06/2012 11:01

I find it's great on DD. It's ok for me but I prefer my normal Denman brush. DD's got long, wavy, unruly but fine hair.

valiumredhead · 28/06/2012 12:34

Yes, works well on my really thick hair.

holstenlips · 29/06/2012 00:28

Yes , got one for DD tons of thick hair. I now use it on my fine hair too and like the fact it doesnt drag or break my over processed hair (nest)

MrsMcNulty · 29/06/2012 08:20

Yes, works on DD and on me
