Do you wear a bra in bed?

And does it make any difference to sagging if you do?

OP posts:
thevjay · 10/06/2012 21:37

Nope, never have. Am a 36H. Not to saggy... yet.

chocolateandcoffee · 10/06/2012 21:44

marypoopins Shock really?! There is breast cancer in my family.

I'm not disbelieving you at all but is there any research to back this up that you could link me to. I would love to take a look.

JollyBear · 10/06/2012 21:47

I have a bravissimo sleeping vest. Soft but keeps things in place.

Oblomov · 10/06/2012 21:52

No. Surely it is not the norm to. Have slept naked since teenager.

HouseOfCheese · 10/06/2012 22:26

No no no. I don't even like wearing pants in bed - hate things that dig in, rub, or restrict circulation.

I'd be dubious about whether wearing a bra in bed stops drooping, it's not like they get a lot of draggy momentum going when you're lying down, is it? Confused

AnyFucker · 10/06/2012 22:29

oh, I never wear knickers in bed

come the Apocalypse, I will be found running screaming from my bed in a bra and nothing else

Chandon · 10/06/2012 22:33

No bra, but boobs small. And not yet saggy despite advanced age

Must must must wear tight fitting big knickers though, but only in bed. Big saggy bum?!

During the day I wear lacy brazillian knickers. DH despairs...

r3dh3d · 10/06/2012 22:35

Yup. But only because I can't sleep without one (DH learned early in our relationship to put it somewhere safe because the post-coital rummaging around in the bedclothes with the lights on, looking for the damn thing, was keeping him awake).

Greenshadow · 10/06/2012 22:36

Awful thought. Can't imagine anything worse, but then I do sleep on my front so breasts need to to be able to flop to either side..

Am average sized and love going bra-less (day time sometimes too). Still not sagging at 50.

NotEnoughJamOnTheBread · 10/06/2012 22:47

Doubled-up laughing at AnyFucker! I wear a strappy vest top by M&S which has an integrated soft bra built in and is really comfy. I look well-pert in it even if I do say so myself. Also stops my 3 boys staring/pointing/laughing at my lady lumps when they wake me up at the weekend. My little girl recently started asking what they are. She's only 4. Haven't got the heart to tell her she's got it all to come...

BreeVanDerTramp · 10/06/2012 22:51

Never, taking bra off at bedtime is my favourite part of the day Grin

34G here and not saggy despite breast feeding twice and on 3rd pregnancy.

DuffyMoon · 10/06/2012 22:53

cropped top otherwise breast clap...breast clap

NeverFearWonderWomanIsHere · 10/06/2012 22:59

Yes, ever since they got huge after having dd1. On the rare occasions I don't (if it's too hot perhaps) I have to support them with my hands which is fucking uncomfortable and leads to dead hands the next day.

supermumSarah · 10/06/2012 23:12

Never. Mine are great and still perky at 40!

Krumbum · 10/06/2012 23:13

No, I find it very uncomfortable. Wearing one will make no difference to sagging whatsoever so don't bother unless it's for comfort.

PissyDust · 10/06/2012 23:16

I love taking my bra off once I get in from work and change into my PJ's.

I wouldn't dream of wearing my bra to bed, I like to swing free.

BegoniaBigtoes · 10/06/2012 23:26

Nooooo, hate wearing a bra in bed (except when pg/breastfeeding, when I wore a soft one but only to protect them because they were so sore). Mine are smallish, but after inflating enormously during 2 pregnancies, they're pretty much like two floppy socks unless well hoiked up. I don't care though. I like to sleep on my front and comfort is all.

CointreauVersial · 10/06/2012 23:45

Nooo. PJs alone are sufficient to contain my pancakes.

The only exception was when BF, as I couldn't bear waking up in a soggy, milky bed.

Kristina2 · 11/06/2012 06:47

Apparently sagging is related to

Genetics
Obesity
Smoking
Size of boobs
Numebr of pregnancies

I wear a bra for comfort as im an f cup

Msarsebiscuit · 11/06/2012 07:07

As an answer to the OP, no, I don't wear a bra in bed and I'm reasonably perky despite being 34FF and having breastfed 3 ( children ). I have thought about doing it because I'm quite vain about my breasts but then couldn't be arsed.

As a counter to the breast cancer claims, I've had a cursory look through t'internet and there are numerous reputable sources refuting the notion that wearing bras cause cancer - this is just one www.nytimes.com/2010/02/16/science/16qna.html

Rabid · 11/06/2012 07:29

It's a bit cloistered isn't it ? Wearing a bra in bed

wishiwasonholiday · 11/06/2012 07:31

I am an f cup and find bras too uncomfortable to wear for longer than necessary!

Bunbaker · 11/06/2012 07:35

Apparently sagging is related to

Genetics - Don't know
Obesity - I'm very slim
Smoking - Never smoked
Size of boobs - Too small Sad
Number of pregnancies - One

Pert and perky at 53, but too small.

BalloonSlayer · 11/06/2012 07:46

I'd have thought another factor is at what age they got big, (if at all).

My boobs are OK for me age. But I did not start getting them at all until I was 14, then I was a AA or A cup until I was about 18, then they really exerted themselves and I was a mighty B cup until I had my first DC at 35. I am now an E, but I would say that my boobage muscles have only had to do any serious hard work for the last 12 years.

Compare that with someone my age (47) who grew a pair of F cups at age 12, whose supporting muscles have been battling hard for 35 years.

PorkyandBess · 11/06/2012 07:59

Same as BalloonSlayer.

I had really small boobs until I had children.

I'm now a 32DD and they are very perky; they don't move when I remove my bra. I think because they haven't been there all that long! I am very careful about looking after them and 'double bag' when I run. Never wear a bra to bed though.

I feel quite lucky as all of my 40+ friends are suffering the dreaded droop.
