Best shapewear?

Just that, really. I had my dd 3 months ago and have two weddings coming up later this year.

Luckily, the extra weight has gone thanks to running after a whirlwind toddler, but I still have that lovely 'pouch'.

So, help me suck it all in and hoik it up. What do you recommend? I'm a size 12 with huge milk-laden norks.

Thanks!

Access for bf not essential, BTW. Dd won't be with us.

Rather reasonably, Peacocks does a nice line in control shorts that suck it all in and double up in helping to avoid the much discussed irksome issue of thigh chafing. Very comfortable they are too and no butt munching.

Splendid stuff.

Balconette bras are great for hoiking up the norks.

Oh I've tried them all from the expensive spans to primark. And unbelievably primark comes out top for me

Hello, don't try Spanx Super Shaper tights. They are lovely tights but really expensive and don't do anything! How sad is this? I measured before and after and lost not a millimetre and, it gets sadder, before you say I might have measured in different places I have the felt tip marks on my thighs to prove otherwise! However, Tightsplease website were very helpful and I would thoroughly recommend their service.

Thanks for the tips. Good to know that the most expensive isn't necessarily the best!

Unfortunately, I must live in the only city without a primark ....

I have just bought this slip which your wear with your own bra (so nursing if nec, which it is in my case) and it is really really excellent! I have spanx, which are great, but I actually prefer this. Creates a lovely smooth line under dresses and holds me in nicely. Really recommend!

Amber, does that M&S slip roll up at all? I spent a fortune on a spanx slip, but it ends up around my waist.

AmberNectarine · 03/06/2012 09:07

I haven't found it to, but I did go up a size which might have helped. Still has a good slimming effect, without being a sausage skin and is actually very comfy.

I swear by matalan shape wear - just make sure to try it on! I got medium when I was a 14, and it kept rolling down. Now that I'm a 12 it fits perfectly and smooths out my tummy (same problem with post-baby wobble!). They are just like big knickers made out of industrial strength thick stretchy fabric.

amber : the m&s one looks good. Think I need to try it on to make sure it fits. I see its got seams down the front - do they show through clothes? The dress I intend to wear is lined, but best to check.
