Who's had their colours done & is happy with the result ?

I had mine down 3 years ago. I have dark brown haor, dark brown eyes, pale skin & medium brown eye brows.

I was 'diagnosed' as a deep autumn. However, I find these colours really quite drab on me - I'm a bit of a bright pink/lilac person. Have ditched the pale blue because I can see that really drains me, but I can't get to grips with the colour palette given to me. Yes sad I know, but all confidence is lost & I need help !

I 've had a look on the colour me bad website and I don't think it sounds that expensive. Might treat myself to colour and style out of curiosity.

Enif · 21/02/2006 12:28

green doesnt suit me

I have a new maternity tshirt - navy with pink polka dots and need less make up when I wear it

Hmm - my mistake - turns out it was colour therapy in East Sheen - something totally different .
colour therapy

However, according to the color me Beautiful website (what you are after) there are therapists not too far away

Have got quite enthused, there are 5 colour me bad consultants near me. Might try and talk my mum into it. She could do with it - fab figure but more and more often lately the words mutton and lamb are springing to mind.

Clary · 21/02/2006 13:17

ooooh I would love to have this done.
Have been having a black cull as I suspect it doesn't suit me. Sister tells me black is now the new black but I don't care. Also everyone at work wears it all the time, so depressing.
So I have branched out into brown but I need this doign to see if I am right.
I have met the lovely purpleturtle a couple of times {hello pt} and have always thought how lovely she looks, how well the colours suit her, lots of lovely corally, pale green, sandy tones. So maybe it does work!

motherinferior · 21/02/2006 13:20

Hester is good on this. As a result of talking to her I have moved from black into very very dark brown, and the result is rather pleasing.

welshmum · 21/02/2006 13:40

What do you actually get for your money?

mojomummy · 21/02/2006 14:28

Mrs badger, do you meaning your colouring sounds different from mine ? The colours given to me when the same as you have described & they make me feel d-r-a-b. And what do you wear in the summer ? last year I wore brown/warm yellow (nice colour) turquoise/navy & peach - that was a bit draining - coral is a better colour.

did you go to colour me beautiful?

mojomummy · 21/02/2006 14:30

welshmum, well a booklet with the colours which should make you feel sensational if you're happy with them. Which has to be priceless

If you're not happy with them, a la me, then you might end up with a personality complex !!

Who's going to help me re-style ?! PURLEASE !!!

mojomummy - I found the palette colours were less drab than the black and grey I was living in previously, but guess they could be a shock for pink/lilac devotees!

Haven't had a summer in new colours yet (was only done in December), but am planning on orange, coral and yellowy greens, with beige/tan for skirts/trousers/jackets - had lots of these already. Also turquoise if I can find it dark enough - the bright ones don't suit me.

Fimbo · 21/02/2006 14:44

My friend has had it done and she does look heaps better as she knows which colours suit her better

mojomummy · 21/02/2006 14:52

mrsbadger - can we go shopping together please ?

Maybe that's the thing then, naturally head towards to the brights, never been a one for balck though. I don't like dark colours on top 'cos it makes me feel a bit insignificant. Perhaps serious thought & a bit more time needs to go into my appearence.

Cod sounds like she wearing a nice outfit...me ? well I've got a 'vibrant' purple/lilac mix M&S jumper on with.........black velour bottoms, blue spotty socks & red slippers (good for grounding chakras). Coco the clown springs to mind.

One of my friends used to wear v colourful clothes when she came to the UK. Her work colleagues nicknamed her Miss Quality Street (or was it Coronation Street?). It's 15 years later now, she's in her 50s, but she still hasn't sucumbed to blacks and greys.

mojomummy · 21/02/2006 16:07

ooh I'm not that bad ! mind you...I might have to have another look in my wardrobe.

I am working at home today (ok also checking out eba7 & mumsnet) & I am pregnant - too much belly for normal clothes, too little for maternity.

quality street ! that does make me chuckle !
