Here is your list. Stick to it. Love it, for it will be your salvation.

Well, your body's salvation anyway.

  1. 8 glasses of filtered water a day
  2. Exfoliate (everything...within reason)
  3. Use teeth whitener
  4. Use anti-aging face cream
  5. Intensive nail care (feet and hands)
  6. Use eyelash growth serum OR eye cream
  7. The Shred / other intensive exercise
  8. At least 2 extra fruit & veg every day
  9. Healthy breakfast daily
10. Use hair oil (moroccan hair oil for eg, or kerastase etc) 11. No alcohol during the week & no boozing it up on weekends 12. Take vitamins every day 13. Body brushing 14. At least 2 servings of salmon or other fatty fish per week. 15. One early night once a week. Suggest 9PM. 16. Regular hair removal 17. Give up one naughty favourite item e.g. chocolate/crisps 18. No more fizzy drinks 19. DAILY body moisturising 20. Warm water with lemon first thing in the a.m.

All the hard work has been done for you. This list was carefully crafted in the course of 2 previous threads and hundreds of posts by women determined to make the most of what they've got.

Thank you to BlackSwan for starting the previous thread. Lots of people, including myself, have fallen off of the wagon, so here is a new thread for a new start. 2012 is the year we do all the pampering that we have been meaning to do, but haven't got around to because everyone else, including the postman, seems to come first!

The extreme self-care regime is back! If we get started now we will look and feel, well, at least above average, by summer!

JamamasPyjamas · 15/05/2012 21:00

This is great, just what I've been needing. I am drinking a large glass of water as i type! Can anyone a good vitamin or supplement to make my skin lovely?

Littlepumpkinpie · 15/05/2012 23:48

I never stopped :)

4aminsomniac · 16/05/2012 08:35

Don't we need to add sun protection in there somewhere? It may not have short term benefits, but has to be one of the most effective in the long term (when the princesses grow up to be Queens?)

Gapants · 16/05/2012 08:40

Oh I am doing about half of these, but will improve. I am a bridesmaid in September--I am 36, lord have mercy.

What is so good about hot water and lemon?

I am taking a 1000mg of slow release Vit C for general well being and immunity boost, some Sea kelp and and Star Flower for my hair.

I rate the OCM for my face, and coconut oil for hair.

Sorelip · 16/05/2012 09:57

4aminsomiac that is a good point. I use a moisturiser with spf 15.

Gapants apparently it helps cleanse your system. I use it as an aid to cut down on the amount of tea I drink. Where do you buy your coconut oil?

JamamasPyjamas I take Boots own brand multivitamins with iron and flaxseed oil supplements, because I'm a vegetarian, so no fish for me.

Coconut oil comes in a white tub, £1.99 from Superdrug, it is near the hair care stuff.

Also I have been doing am aspirin face mask once a week as well. Which is GOOD, face feels plumper and smother.

naturelover · 16/05/2012 14:17

Well there's nothing like a 3-week bikini deadline to get one motivated! I'm not complaining but I found out yesterday that I'll be going somewhere hot and glamourous in 3 weeks. I think I'll be princessing non-stop for the next 21 days!
I've been doing Callanetics twice a week since March and I'm tempted to up it to 3 or 4 times a week to see if that helps flatten my tummy and tone my bottom.

flipflopflap · 16/05/2012 18:59

Hello Ladies, I'm in for this one. Need to go out this weekend and get some supplies though!

I've been riding my bike more recently so think I'm adding in an extra ride per week instead of something intensive as I have arthritis, but everything else I'm game for!

Can anyone tell me about coconut oil- Can you use regular 'cooking' coconut oil? And do you put it in after washing- like you could with Moroccanoil?

Llareggub · 16/05/2012 19:42

I'm in. I've separated from my husband and have recently dipped a toe into the world of online dating. I can't bear to do it until I've whipped myself into shape and started by tackling my grey hair last night.

BlackSwan · 16/05/2012 21:46

Naturelover - don't underestimate how you can whip yourself into shape in 3 weeks!
Littlepumpkinpie, admire your stickatitness!

Hi flipflop, what are you planning on buying?

Hello Llareggub, great that you're joining in, how did your hair dyeing go? What's next on the list? Exciting times!

For supplements, I have been taking a fish oil supplement, imedeen, multi vitamin (on and off) and sambucol. Fruit and veggie intake lacking. Must address that.

Llareggub · 16/05/2012 22:43

It went very well actually. I can't believe how much money I have wasted on salon appointments in the past when my £7 jobby has been so effective. I have exciting news on the date front, I have just checked my messages and a nice chap I have been messaging wants to meet. Eek!

Llareggub · 16/05/2012 22:44

BTW, anyone know what can help with water retention ?

itdidntworkout · 16/05/2012 23:04

sunscreen?
exercise?
eliminate sugar?
remove makeup before bed?
weekly hair and face mask?

just suggestions Wink.

Sorelip · 17/05/2012 16:16

Llareggub, I know that reducing your salt intake can help. When I cover my dinner in salt, I retain at least 2lb of water overnight! Also, are you drinking enough?

itdidntworkout, thank you for reminding me that I need to either make something or buy something to use for a face mask. I ran out ages ago, but keep forgetting to buy more.

Naturelover, where do you get your callanetics instruction from? I've heard good things about it.

Jillian Michaels is kicking my arse! The Shred is having some pretty good results. I can feel my stomach muscles again :)

OP posts:
naturelover · 17/05/2012 17:16

I bought my Callanetics dvd on amazon. It was about £30 but I figured cheaper than a gym membership. I AM starting to get a bit bored/reach a plateau but after 2 months I think this is inevitable.

My other plans in the next 3 weeks are:

  • eat more nuts, seeds, avocado, berries... er any other superfoods I can think of
  • walk every chance I get and generally move more
  • only one glass of wine a week
  • drink water every time I walk past the tap
  • do callanetics or pilates every second day

Bikini shopping is just depressing though, does any woman EVER like what she sees in those changing rooms?

naturelover · 17/05/2012 17:58

Oh and also eat more veg. I seem to eat a ton of fruit but not enough veg.

Sorelip · 17/05/2012 18:51

Oh hell no, I can't bear changing room mirrors. My legs and arse look like a hilly landscape in those.

OP posts:
BlackSwan · 17/05/2012 20:46

Llareggub - are you meeting him this weekend?! Have you seen his photo? I'm panicking.

Llareggub · 17/05/2012 20:52

No, thankfully not this weekend. Next. He looks a bit like Jack Davenport. Now on a strict diet and following the list below for greatest impact. Might even shave my legs Grin

Llareggub · 17/05/2012 20:53

Have joined a gym and had a plate of fruit and cheese for breakfast instead of toast. Ignored the freebie muffins at work and refused pudding at our team event. Am going for it!

BlackSwan · 19/05/2012 20:20

Jack Davenport had better watch out! Good for you!

Green tea? Oh, guess that's high in caffeine. Have you tried Aveda tea? Lovely, though not sure about caffeine content.

lillybloom · 21/05/2012 07:22

I'm in again.
