I've just uploaded 3 new pics, its what I'm wearing today. www.flickr.com/photos/78444433@N08/with/7187144378/ I searched my wardrobe for something colourful and remembered I'd bought this when we had that week of warm weather before all the rain started. The shoes I bought in Feb from Next.
I don't like having my arms on show but I'm going to risk it and take a cardy in my bag for if I loose my nerve or its gets colder

suburbanstyle Thanks so much for posting on my old thread, I love your blog and its going to be really useful for me.

i love that top shop blazer. and i love these outfits, really you look great!

NewAndHopefullyImproved · 13/05/2012 21:00

Hmm, gone off that blazer now I've seen it on ebay, it doesn't look like it'd last very well. It looks quite dishevelled.

If I got a black one I couldn't wear it over my plentiful supply of navy striped tops though? Black and navy won't go together?
What about this one from Debenhams?

Its just that most of my clothes are navy, only some things are black/grey so nervous of getting a black blazer if it won't go with anything I already have.

That said, I bloody loved the TopShop one Grin

Just going to throw the cat amoung the pigeons for a moment......please ignore if you think it's a terrible idea......but I recently bought a red blazer from TShop and it goes with all of my trousers (now you will realise that I was telling you to get coloured jeans but I'm a strictly blue/black/stone/white bottom lady).....fab.

NewAndHopefullyImproved · 13/05/2012 21:27

Dry I think a red blazer would go with almost everything I have actually, that is a good idea. I'll try to find one to try on.

Red would go with all my navy and white striped tops, with indigo and dark jeans, would look good with my red flat pumps on too.

Doubt it would go over the dresses but nevermind.

What do you think of the debenhams grey blazer, its so cheap I was thinking of just getting it to have. Easy with jeans, vest top and flats to go to toddler groups etc, casual and easy?

drywhiteplease · 13/05/2012 21:36

This is the blazer I bought
yum!
Remember the next poppy scarf I linked last night? Guess what? I wear it together. And with red Breton top,and a navy stripy too.
Grey looks ok...for the price I'd try it on and see what you think.

suburbanstyle · 13/05/2012 21:38

What about these linen blend blazers boxy, bit longer or break the mould entirely and go for mustard my latest colour obsession.

I am going to be a bit controversial and very hypocritical given how much I wear them and say I think red jeans may have had their moment and pastels are more modern. Disclaimer I have decided this 4 years running now and still always end up in my red jeans Smile.

Anyway I think coloured jeans need to be quite a thick and preferably denim. I have Topshop Leighs in black but prefer to wear them tucked into knee high boots because they aren't really that flattering. Have got these from New Look which are a nice thick material and come in lots of colours.

suburbanstyle · 13/05/2012 21:38

*quite a thick material

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/05/2012 21:41

That's nice. I've had my eye on this one from Mango. Love it but maybe a bit too fancy dress-esque?

drywhiteplease · 13/05/2012 21:43

suburbanstyle I love your blog and when you said boot cuts were " more modern" my heart leapt for Joy and I just had to celebrate with a wine
There is nothing more flattering than a boot cut, the day Stella Mcartney deems them in fashion again I will rejoice!!!!

NewAndHopefullyImproved · 13/05/2012 21:45

I think I will definitely steer clear of pastels! Not brave enough for those, I look all washed out and pale in them.

I like all those blazers you linked to Suburban, never even heard of Forever21 before though. Its a whole new world out there!

That is a nice red blazer Dry, I like it. Didn't see it in TopShop today but my local store is like a postage stamp. Maybe more luck tomorrow.

NewAndHopefullyImproved · 13/05/2012 22:11

I'm not really sure how it works tbh, I think she posts weekdays? I love her style, its casual but trendy and seems so effortless.

OP posts:
ThatVikRinA22 · 13/05/2012 22:15

im loving it too but she looks very slim....now a few years ago most of that would have worked for me, not so sure now!

NewAndHopefullyImproved · 13/05/2012 22:18

I think you said you were a 14? I think her style would suit a 14 too. Maybe try a shopping trip of just trying stuff on and see how it looks. Thats what I seem to be doing at the moment.

OP posts:
ThatVikRinA22 · 13/05/2012 22:19
