Small boobs...

AIBU to think that I could find a bra that is uplifting, but not wodged full of foam, which will be flattering on those of us who are not overendowed on the boobicular area?
At the moment it either looks like I'm completely flat chested, or have two bean bags shoved down there.

I am struggling to find a bra that's pretty and supportive. Any recommendations?

Sorrel - I've just measured using your system. I make myself a 31D (I've always worn a 34B)
Is there such a thing as 31? Is was a little tight but 32 would be very loose...

Why not start a thread saying "I need bra advice" in the appropriate place then?

There are two different measuring systems and the other one is wrong (except in some rare retro lingerie manufacturer's cases). M&S bras are generally about the same size as Bravissimo ones.

31 inches underneath and 35 around the boobs

Try a 30dd, 30d, 32d and 32c. I suspect the 30 back will be better as most people who are between sizes go down in the back.

The tape measure was quite tight at 31inches mind... I will have a go though. I can't believe I could ever be a D-cup. I've always had small boobs and D's look humungous in the shops!

frazzle you've probably been looking at, say, 38Ds, that are quite big indeed. A 30D is not - it's the same size cup as a 36A!

I measure about 31 too and need a 30, if you can get it on and done up and it us not painful, it's probably right! It will feel tight at first though

What should I be trying then? Just measured and I'm 29 underbust and 33 across. I've been wearing 36AAA. It's the first bra that has actually fit me, ever. But I order them from a Freaks-R-Us type shop in the US, which costs me a bloody fortune. I dream of being able to go into a highstreet shop and choose a nice bra.

I would try a 28DD, a 28D and a 30D. As SC says above you'll probably find the smaller back size a better fit.

If you consider that an A cup = a 1" difference between your two measurements, and an AA = 0" difference, then an AAA has to be technically impossible! Howver, US sizes are slightly different

Thank you Sorrel. D or DD sounds so much better than AAA. Although I quite like the idea of having technically impossible boobs! Right, I'm off to order bras from M&S!

Ok have just measured myself, 29 under boobs and 32 around boobs ( including cold nipples but every bit counts right )

OK, try a 28D, a 28C and a 30C. I suspect the 28 will be a better fit.

Your 32 is too tight because the cup is too small. Be brave

I feel your pain! I was a 36AAA before getting pregnant and I was really frustrated with the whole bra issue. Luckily I discovered two companies that sell pretty bras for smaller boobs. They are 'Little Women' and 'Dainty Lady'. Don't be put off by the slightly patronising names they make really nice bras that range from 32AAA to 40AAA. They have lots of bras that have subtle padding or no padding at all, so you don't feel like you're smuggling pillows.

Thanks to the sterling advice of Sorrel and Hazel on other threads I discovered the joys of buying and wearing bras that actually fit me!

I had been wearing 34C because I thought I was a 32C or D but could rarely get 32s in the shops.

I then discovered (thanks to Sorrel's and Hazel's advice) that I am a 28 but find a 30 more comfortable - depending on the style I now wear a 30DD or 30E! And I look so much better for it, without the discomfort of wearing a poorly-fitting bra. You'd never look at me and think "wow that woman has E cup jugs" as it's all relative to the ribcage measurement - I'm only 5 foot and a blink and weigh 7 st 13 so very narrow around my ribs with average size boobies.

I recently bought some beautiful Curvy Kate bras from Brastop.com which are lovely on.

interwebmum Honestly though, I can't imagine that there are many women whose under bust and across bust measurments are in minus figures?

AA = 0" difference
A = 1" difference
B = 2" difference
C = 3" difference

and so on

I know a couple of people who've been wearing 36As and 36AAs and when properly fitted they've turned out to be D cups!

Oh, I was too lazy to read everything and just realised that I may have missed the point of your post.Oops. I just checked your size on the Little Women website and it says 34AA.

BTW I think smaller boobs are brilliant and it's not our fault that the high street shops don't cater for us petite ladies. Small boobs are sexy!

SorrelForbes I can assure you that I was definately a 36AAA and it was the first time in my life I found a bra that fit me correctly. I don't know where you are getting your information from but it doesn't correspond with my experience.
