Yet another wedding outfit thread - kill me now...

I promised myself I wouldn't post one of these, but I'm desperate...
Have trawled the shops for hours and I'm getting nowhere. It is imperative that I look my best for this wedding!! Seriously posh but cool London crowd, lots of ex uni 'friends' that I haven't seen in years.
However, I have a budget of about 100 quid for my whole outfit, so it needs to be cheap. Or on my next directory account...
So... I'm a size 6, age 30, decent legs, no boobs to speak of, quite pale, dark brown bobbed hair. I like navy, bright green and the coral colours that are around at the moment. Will probably fake tan for the wedding.
Please help me!!
Have tried on one dress in Next that I like - the 'slub' dress in pink. Why they call it that I've no idea as it is tailored and formal. I like that shape because it gives me the illusion of hips/butt.
All suggestions gratefully received!

Definitely at the top end of your dress budget, but is fashion forward.

The only shoes I could find to keep in budget were:
metallic platform
Zara

It's always worth digging through TK Maxx, or visiting any outlet sites near you too.

Hi

If you have the Next Directory - Lk Bennett have a few of their dresses in there if your budget is more on your acct

MoonlightandRoses · 09/05/2012 21:39

Just caught up on the other posts - the dress I linked to is only at the top end of your budget if you needed space for shoes, as you don't, then it no longer is IYSWIM...love the rasberry one Waswondering linked to also.

DontmindifIdo · 09/05/2012 21:39

what about this Boden one dark blue would go well with your nude heels, leaves you £20 to get a clutch from somewhere like accesorise (or ask round if anyone has a clutch you can borrow)

I would suggest if you have to cross London, you travel in ballet flats then stuff them (and the bag you had your heels in) into your clutch.

MrsLettuce · 09/05/2012 21:40

this with these and this, or preferably this what with you being determined to go over budget and all.

Will there be lots of Trendy Young Things or are the other guests mostly parents too?

MrsLettuce · 09/05/2012 21:42

better bag link

sorry

DontmindifIdo · 09/05/2012 21:42

I also like this oasis one

MrsLettuce · 09/05/2012 21:43

Like that a lot!

EllieorOllie · 10/05/2012 11:11

Thanks for all your replies!
Went out this morning and ended up getting a Next signature dress from a local dress agency. It's cream chiffon with pink and tan flowers and then sort of fades through to black at the hem. Got black chiffon flower clutch to go with it, and some nude platforms. Will wear with black waterfall jacket to travel. Total cost - £60!
Don't think I would have looked at it without the replies to this thread, so thank you very much...

Glad you found a dress!

badtasteflump · 10/05/2012 11:15

Is there a TKMaxx anywhere near you?

No outfit suggestions, other than to say that TKM have lots of posh but cheap stuff....

badtasteflump · 10/05/2012 11:15

Sorry XPosted

MrsLettuce · 10/05/2012 11:16

Glad you've found something you love and in budget. Was worried it was all getting a bit mum-from-the suburbs but it sounds like a good choice.

EllieorOllie · 10/05/2012 11:33

Yeah, not big into boden/anything satin myself, though could see it would look lovely on the right person.
Loved the Henry Holland outfit Mrs L, but I think it needs to be more formal. Otherwise that was totally me!
Lots of late twenties/early thirties professionals, and loads of Americans, so I don't think I have to look toooo trendy. Plus their theme is hot pink, so my dress is a nod to that. Think the nude platforms pull the outfit away from suburban Mum! Anyway, it's done now, there is no going back Grin!

I see you've got a dress now, but I thought I'd say that 'slub' or 'slubbing' is a description of how the fibre of the material is prepared. It is drawn out and twisted before spinning. It gives a different texture to the fabric.
