Harper Beckham

I've just seen tweeted photos of clothes Victoria and Harper would be wearing in China. I couldn't understand why Harper wasn't dressed in the usual baby girl way i.e.pink,pretty,girly. I think( my opinion) she is dressed the way she is to coordinate better with Victoria's outfits. What do you think? I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it... but i just didn't get it before.

Maybe her mum just has more taste that making her live in pink just because she's female.

Does it matter? Afaik beckhams haven't ever sold any pics of their kids (it's pap shots you see) so I think it's off that there are any tweeted or other pics of them out there. Their parents have one way of life and photos of them are one thing. Photos of their kids is something else. Discussing what Victoria wears (as it is how she makes a living) one thing, her daughter something else.

southeastastra · 29/04/2012 14:37

they do get on my wick but i do like the way she dresses her in sludgey colours, think i would be the same!

DinahMoHum · 29/04/2012 14:40

i think they dress her really nicely. I hardly ever dress my daughter in pink unless she insists.

DialsMavis · 29/04/2012 14:51

I love Harpers clothes (wish Vicky was my Mum)

worldgonecrazy · 29/04/2012 14:52

I think she dresses Harper beautifully. It makes a nice change to see something a bit more interesting than pink.

ifancyashandy · 29/04/2012 15:01

What everyone else said about loving Harper's clothes. Classy, understated and so 'soft' looking. Love that she's not dressed in pink, sparkles, purple etc.

SoupDragon · 29/04/2012 15:17

Possibly it's because, love her or hate her, VB tends to choose tasteful clothes so is likely to dress her daughter in unicorn vomit whilst she is still in control :)

PorkyandBess · 29/04/2012 15:20

I am not a fan of VB, but she has really gone up in my opinion of her because she doesn't dress the baby in any ghastly pink ensemble.

I think she always looks lovely and I hope it sparks a trend away from sickly, pink yukkiness that so many put their girls in.

noddyholder · 29/04/2012 15:21

The baby is very sweet I like the clothes

perceptionreality · 29/04/2012 15:23

I have quite a few friends who deliberately don't dress their dds in pink because they don't like gender stereotyping. But in any case, I think Victoria dresses her dd beautifully.

trixymalixy · 29/04/2012 17:54

I really like the way she dresses Harper. I don't like to dress DD in pink either.

MaeMobley · 30/04/2012 01:07

I love the way VB dresses Harper. I wish I could afford Bonpoint for my DD. And I loathe the whole pink thing. I love to see a baby in black.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 30/04/2012 01:31

I love her clothes too, went to bonpoint in Bicester hoping for a bargain but even at half price couldn't justify it. My dd's equivalent is petit bateau which do some lovely non pink dresses.

Bonsoir · 30/04/2012 01:40

For all of you who like Bonpoint but not the prices and travel to France - the children's clothes at Monoprix are designed by a former Bonpoint designer and you can create some good looks at a fraction of Bonpoint prices. They aren't put together by a stylist for you, however - you have to collect the items together yourself!

CheerfulYank · 30/04/2012 02:04

I think I'd do some pink if I had a dd, but wouldn't go overboard.

From what little I've seen I like Harper's clothes, but then I'm quite fond of ol' VB. I think she seems nice. :)

PoorAudreyHorseface · 30/04/2012 02:08

I like pink ....

SodoffBaldrick · 30/04/2012 06:48

You 'couldn't understand why she wasn't dressed in the usual baby girl way, i.e. pink, pretty, girly'.

Really?! Grin

And yeah, what everyone else said.

AmberNectarine · 30/04/2012 07:37

Yep I think she looks great. I struggle massively to find anything non lurid and revolting for my DD (2 days older than young Harper) - she has a couple of bits of Bonpoint, but it is horrendously pricey. Rest is Petit Bateau, Boden (as tasteful as poss), cherry picked Baby-Gap and H&M. I find it so much harder to dress her than DS.

SilentBoob · 30/04/2012 07:54

I never dress my baby girl in pink. It doesn't suit her colouring. I have no objection to pink and my older daughter wore pink amongst other colours, but youngest looks so bloody divine in blue or yellow or white that it would be odd to put her in pink Because She Is A Girl.

worldgonecrazy · 30/04/2012 07:57

TK Maxx is also a fruitful hunting ground for non-pink girly clothes. maemobley I've even seen a couple of black dresses in there.

MaeMobley · 30/04/2012 08:00

Thanks worldgonecrazy. Unfortunately DD is now 6 and adores pink girly Disney princess stuff.

whitelillies · 30/04/2012 08:01

I really like the way she dressed her dd!
I t s very difficult to aviod pink when you have a girl and it makes shopping for them a ridiculous and hideous exercise if you re avoiding it so I really hope this opens the eyes of the high street retailers and sparks a trend that not every little girls needs to be clowned in garish pinks purples sequins and bows!
I dont mind if my dd wears pink or not but a cholce would be nice - although Zara has a nice selection atm....

MadameChinLegs · 30/04/2012 08:03

I love thay VB hasnt gone ott with a girl to dress after three boys. I hate most shades of pink so rarely use it. Harper always looks very well dressed.
