......Heated rollers!!

Adore them! They give a gorgeous bouncy volumised look...but wonder whats the best product to use before and after to get a shiney non-frizzy affect??

Do you use serum on dd?

SeaHouses · 01/05/2012 12:36

I am using umberto giannini finishing cream and instant beauty makeover spray, but the second one has been discontinued I think, so will have to find something else for DD.

Is there a serum you would recommend?

valiumredhead · 01/05/2012 12:39

Frizz Ease - make sue you put it on soaking wet hair. L'Oreal Mythic Oil is good on wet hair and can be used as a finishing serum too. If you blow dry then Tigi Blow Out Balm is amazing - you can get it cheap on ebay.

Those velcro sleep rollers look good, has anyone actually tried them? I have naturally curly hair, but dont like it just scrunched. It means that heated rollers make me look like annie and it doesnt really drop!

SeaHouses · 01/05/2012 13:07

I thought Frizz Ease was for curly hair. DD's hair is straight; it is just really, really thick and has that texture that hair gets if you have been swimming in the sea. Would Frizz Ease work on that?

Sorry to hijack this thread and make it not about rollers!

Byeckerslike · 01/05/2012 13:10

It would seahouses, its great for straight hair. Its for frizz, not specifically curly frizz

I have wanted to try these for ages. I have quite long hair and want to make sure I get rollers which are big enough - I want waves and volume but definitely not curls. Are the babyliss ones big enough?

valiumredhead · 01/05/2012 13:49

Yes, Frizz Ease would work well - tiny amount though.

KateSpade · 01/05/2012 13:50

Sea horse! That was me, who mentioned the rollers! I am going to order some! Grin

I have a few things to add to the thread, so will be back after work!

moonblushtomato · 01/05/2012 19:20

Fruitsalad I would say the bablyliss aren't the biggest you can get.

Theres a link on this thread somewhere with bigger.

I've just ordered these Remington Jumbo Curls heated rollers. I still have an ancient set but not too many pins left and lots of the rollers are quite small.

This thread made me realise that I need new 'uns.

(Oh, and for those looking for maximum root lift, the babyliss root boost crimper is amazing.)

KateSpade · 01/05/2012 20:32

Does anyone do hair rollers with dry hair? Not heated ones. Like they do in't Scousewives? Blush

Also, i think i am going to get some of those velcro sleep rollers, if it wasn't me who mentioned it, i got it from that thread, however my hair is curly/wavy and I'm wondering will it work? will it have the desired effect their meant to give?
Anyone shed an insight?

valiumredhead · 01/05/2012 22:06

Yes Kate - they didn't work on my hair at all, they just fell out!

KateSpade · 02/05/2012 08:24

Oh dear, did you Kirkby grip them in?

valiumredhead · 02/05/2012 08:27

No they were velcro and huge a kirby grip wouldn't have worked. Perhaps they were just not grippy enough velcro?

HeeHeeHeeBum · 02/05/2012 10:39

Those that have used the Tresemme rollers - are 5 really enough to cover your whole head? How do you use them? I am quite tempted but reluctant as I have accumulated a lot of crap hair appliances :)

MrsBovary · 03/05/2012 13:58

HeeHee I think the five rollers are adequate, but I could certainly make use of more. The idea is to add to the top layers of hair for volume. Though I don't bother with layers, I just divide my hair into five sections entirely, but this might be more problematic with thick hair.

I love mine. I have the Babyliss BH, and the rollers produce the same lovely effect, without having to waste time styling for half an hour. It just takes a couple of minutes to put the rollers in.

HeeHeeHeeBum · 03/05/2012 14:44

Thanks for the info MrsBovary. Just added them to my wishlist :)
