I'm having a MAC makeup lesson - what products should I buy?

Having hit the big 4-0 have decided to treat myself to a makeup lesson, to bring my makeup up-to-date. I have paid £25 for the session and will get this back when I buy products...so the question is: What products are THE indispensible ones in the MAC range and what ones are less essential/a waste of money.

All views gratefully accepted! Thanks

glad you had a good time merlot.

I think the pigments they use in MAC cosmetics must be really good, because everything stays on, looking fresh for ages.

Was in the big smoke today and popped into Bobbi Brown for a makeover (having been unable to get an apt with MAC Sad) ... anyway, it was pretty good. Now 'know' how to put eye make-up on properly and am two eyeshadows, a blusher, lipstick, lipgloss and lipliner (all in colours I will wear but wouldn't have had the confidence to choose myself) plus 2 brushes better off .... a big OUCH for my bank account but it was good fun and about time I updated my look. Then I rounded off a good afternoon by buying a nice Aveda handcream and exfoliator ... and now I daren't even look at my bank balance! Grin.

Next time I need a freshen up, I'll book MAC just so as I can compare.

So thanks Merlot for a great idea Smile
