Bodyshop - anything you particularly like ?

didireallysaythat · 14/04/2012 21:32

For reasons I won't bore you with, I need to buy something from bodyshop. Trouble is the last time I bought something from there I was 16 and I think it was apple bubble bath (showing my age now). I'm now 41 and less attracted to brightly coloured, smelly bubble bath.

So can anyone recommend a "can't do without" or "bodyshop does the best" item ?

Badtaste - revealing yourself as an old gimmer - I think they stopped the perfume bar about 20 years ago. Grin

I like Body Shop Hand Creams - they do a lush rose-smelling one. Also the Coconut Body Butter.

chipmunksex · 14/04/2012 22:07

Came on to say makeup brushes-they aren't cheap but I suppose you must have a voucher?

I used to love the bodyshop, but it's been crap for years now-such a shame. Sad

QueenKong · 14/04/2012 22:09

Dewberry bath pearls. For nostalgia purposes only. Wink

Cointreau No!

Wow ! Looks like Saturday night is Bodyshop fan night.

Keep it coming - I'm not overly crazy about smelling of cocoa butter or a fruit salad but I'll take advice if you think I'm being narrow minded.

Alas, no voucher but a need to choose something from a brochure to repay a debt..

i second the bronzer. bth the square one with waves of different colours and the round shimmery one. its the only shimmery one my oily skin can take but it really looks fab and lasts all day. it lasts forever too!

DinahMoHum · 14/04/2012 22:13

hemp foot cream, but i use it for hands

Leo35 · 14/04/2012 22:22

Ginger shampoo (fab stuff if you have a "problem scalp" as the ads might read); Aloe Vera body butter (lovely simple cream for dry skin on kids); Aloe Vera skin care range for my face; Olive or shea body butter (not too heavily scented); Vitamin E hand cream; vitamin E lip salve.

As you can tell I use quite a few products from Body Shop. I generally use products that don't have a very strong scent - fruit scented bubble bath is not my thing either. Hope that you find something that suits.

Flossbert · 14/04/2012 22:28

Seaweed facial wash. I used to use johnsons ph 5.5 and when it was discontinued I was lost in a world of dry skin until I found this. I second (third?) the Ginger shampoo and love the body butters too. Can't stand the shop though - find the sales tactics a bit heavy-handed so go as infrequently as possible.

doormat · 14/04/2012 22:32

as posted by others the body butters are amazing and you have inspired me to go and buy some white musk..lol x

beanandspud · 14/04/2012 22:33

I was going to suggest the hemp hand cream but beaten to it!

I was in a public loo yesterday and someone must have been wearing/spraying 'dewberry' - I was instantly transported back 20 years Grin.

Happypiglet · 14/04/2012 22:33

I also love Hemp hand cream. Smells foul but is amazing on my awful dry and cracked hands

TheReturnOfStropperella · 14/04/2012 22:35

Another vote for the Hemp hand cream. It is very good indeed.

gypsyfloss · 14/04/2012 22:35

I use their aloe vera sensitive cleanser and moisturizer. I've got rosacea and had been using Green People products but these are cheaper and my skin seems calmer.

didireallysaythat · 14/04/2012 22:37

Dewberry ! Oh man, what a blast from the past....

bibbitybobbitybunny · 14/04/2012 22:39

I like the olive shampoo, satsuma shower gel, all the glycerine soaps and their eye makeup remover is unbeatable. If they still do it, teatree and lemon grass shower gel is the nuts if you have an itchy flange.

CointreauVersial · 14/04/2012 22:42

TMI, bibbity, TMI.....

Hemp handcream smells minging; give me fruity beauty any day.

TheReturnOfStropperella · 14/04/2012 22:49

I love the smell of the Hemp hand cream. All that fruity gubbins makes me feel a bit poorly. :)

NimpyWindowmash · 14/04/2012 22:51

I love all the Vitamin E range, especially the tinted moisturiser. However I think it's a bit overpriced.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 14/04/2012 22:51

I drifted away from them over the last few years but have been drawn back by the Earth Lovers shower gels, divine fragrances and very gentle. I also love the Rainforest shampoo and conditioner, the rose hand cream and the whole almond hand range. Not keen on the hemp hand cream though, but I am clearly in a minority with that one.

BaronessBomburst · 14/04/2012 22:59

The Neroli and Jasmine bubble bath, shower gel, moisturiser, and body spray. Rich, heady, and exotic, definitely not fruity! The Moroccan Rose range is nice too.

Loveleopardprint · 14/04/2012 23:17

The lipstick scrub thing. Looks like a green lipstick but gets rid of all the dry skin on your lips.

CointreauVersial · 14/04/2012 23:22

Don't bother with the reed diffuser perfume thingies.

I bought one at Christmas, and had to virtually stick a reed up my nostril to get any kind of aroma out of it. Most disappointing.

(Needed a diffuser to get rid of the whiff of hemp hand cream Wink)

2to3 · 14/04/2012 23:27

Vitamin E intensive face cream is amazing. Use it day and night, still in disbelief that I ever paid three times as much for more expensive brands that weren't in any way better.

mamalovesmojitos · 14/04/2012 23:38

Their lip butter is fab, very rich & sinks into my chapped lips but is quite scented which doesn't appeal to everyone.

Love their fruity soaps as does dd Smile.

Body brush is great.

Heard fab things about hemp hand cream, my friends rave about it.
