S&B - What have you done to me?!

Mombojombo · 13/04/2012 09:51

I only stumbled upon this forum a fortnight ago, looking for DIY beauty tips because DH and I are up to our necks in necessity-enforced austerity.

Somehow in that fortnight I've started the oil cleansing method, bought some Superga pumps, mascara, lippy and shampoo ALL recommended on S&B, I'm watching a million pairs of jeans on eBay, have a new haircut and am getting my nails done next week.

Whaaaaaa?? Is that Austerity, Mombo? What's to be done with me! I might have to stay away from S&B. Is everyone else as impulsive and vain as me?

reads thread to end Shock

FourYolksAche · 13/04/2012 22:46

I know this thread has gone slightly AWOL but

Hush PJs
Estee Lauder Doublewear
Liz Earle cleanser
Neal's Yard Rose face oil
Water serum
MN scarf
Bloch flats - I started that thread and now TK Maxx never have any in Angry
Dressipi - cause of impulse buys extraoridnaire

And am considering acid peeling.

MissFoodie · 13/04/2012 22:48

hi four!!!!
which serum did you get???????? :)
and yes, we might have to start another thread about er, emla's other uses....

Jakadaal · 13/04/2012 22:53

Been on here for 1 week ... bought a groupon voucher for a facial peel, gel nails dones, Gap 30% discount shopped for, H&M bargains sought and have had a whole new world of shoes opened to me ......... think I now need therapy!

Snakeonaplane · 13/04/2012 22:55

Dh said you can feel.......Nada.

Snakeonaplane · 13/04/2012 22:57

Four I always have an eye out for Bloch flats in TKmaxx because of that thread but have yet to find some Sad

MrsBovary · 13/04/2012 23:25

Oh, I forgot to add Sali Hughes. I'd never heard of her before, and have now made my first Bobbi Brown purchases on her recommendation.

Tried Dressipi too, though I'm not sure about it. Might need to revisit

EllieorOllie · 14/04/2012 09:38

Coconut oil. For OCM and hair. Amazing....
Aveda colour care conditioner
No 7 BB cream
Coloured skinnies

However...
Hated that bourjois healthy mix foundation
Tried primer but had horrible skin reaction

You win some, you lose some I guess!

FourYolksAche · 14/04/2012 09:50

I thought of more Blush

Barbara Daly @Tesco products
DP jeans
H and M Breton

The Bloch fiasco taught me there are some things to not share on MN.

MarshaBrady · 14/04/2012 09:55

Aveda shampoo and conditioner - can't go back to cheap supermarket, costs me a fortune.

Celine bag- nothing else will do now.

Lanvin flats- comfy and look great. Big trouble.

Expensive jeans, Jbrand MiH CE SM

Actually whole wardrobe,

EllieorOllie · 14/04/2012 10:00

Oh and I'm seriously considering the Melvita water based serums. It's only a matter of time before I succumb...

FourYolksAche · 14/04/2012 10:04

Ellie I have ordered the Extraordinary Rose Water from Melvita as recommended by MissFoodie - will report back.

but not if it's good cos you bastards will buy it all up

MarshaBrady · 14/04/2012 10:06

Chanel make up splurge and finally paying for the top hairdresser in Aveda rather than the cheapest junior they have.

EllieorOllie · 14/04/2012 10:14

Thanks four Grin

polyhymnia · 14/04/2012 11:11

Marsha, hope you thought the top hairdresser in Aveda worth it. To go for the top is my sort of approach!

MarshaBrady · 14/04/2012 11:15

Poly yes! Will definitely go back to him as I liked the cut, his enthusiasm/direction and found the general level of chat to be better. Grin.

mrsebojones · 14/04/2012 11:16

S&B is my guilty pleasure Wink
My little escape from reality Wink
I love knowing what other people are wearing / buying because I am nosey! I also find it helpful for inspiration. I'm hooked!

polyhymnia · 14/04/2012 12:01

As for my own S and B inspired purchases:

  • Lily and Lionel scarves
  • MN scarf
  • Peony and Moore bags
and probably lots more - I'm extravagant enough left to my own devices but MN S and B gives me new excuses/ opportunities (and often good advice).
KatieScarlett2833 · 14/04/2012 13:54

OBC oils - check (coconut, sunflower and caster)
GA 30% - check
Brazilian Blow dry x 2 (so far) - check
Organix shampoo and conditioner - check
Erase paste - check
(already had the MN scarf)

I love this site.

libertychick · 14/04/2012 14:07

Another S&B obsessive here - don't post much as am never ahead of the curve :) But thanks to folks on here I have bought

A gorgeous Peony and Moore bag and planning another one for my birthday
Soap and glory foot file
Garnier blemish balm
Joined dressipi
Started reading fashion blogs

Love lurking on Avid and Wise....

MissFoodie · 14/04/2012 14:10

four well done, please report back Grin

jen127 · 14/04/2012 15:21

Mn Scarf for both me and DSS
Signed up for glossy box
H&M 1.99 and 3.99 dresses
DP dress at 25% of 25% of 25% OFF
Clarisonic
GA peel
No 7 BB cream
primer

And that is just in the past 8 weeks......

vix1980 · 14/04/2012 17:08

hardly ever came on here until the past week or so, always stayed on the pregnancy board and aibu, this past week alone i have spent a fortune in dp with 25%+25%=25% off and today alone i have been to 4 different boots in search of the famous foot file, then hit 2 sainsburys on the way home for their knock off version! still waiting to get it!

drywhiteplease · 14/04/2012 17:42

I never tried primer until S and B mentioned it. Not convinced it makes a huge diff though....persevering though!
