I finally had my rather boring long brown hair cut into a decent style and I love it- it's now a long-ish bob that is shorter at the back than the front and looks rather funky much better than the straggly ponytail look I had before anyway

So all you groomed and stylish ladies, how often do you have your hair cut in order to maintain it in a style that you like? And do you always go back to the same person if you are just having a trim? This time I went for a senior stylist at Toni and Guy and it was £55- seems a lot to me, but she was sooo good and really took the time to talk about what would suit me etc.

Hmm so judging by this I'm guessing 6-8 weeks

Shelley, I am in Herts, if that is anywhere near you pm me and I'll tell you which salon. According to the hairdresser it is like Gwyneth Paltrow's new cut the longest bits at the front just touch my collarbone and at the back it is just below the neckline- just touches my collar. She also put some long layers in so it's not a super blunt cut. And a few soft layers around the face as I like to have something around my face. She did say it would grow out well, but I like it exactly the length it is now!

I go for free fringe trims.

This has revolutionised my existence a tiny bit

I have been sporting a tidy little bob and to keep that looking good I need to get it cut and coloured every 6 weeks at £95 Blush
Although I like it, I have decided to grow it longer so that hopefully I will be able to get away with cuts every 12 weeks. I will still get it coloured every 6 weeks though as I have horrendous greys!

thanks for the reply quickhide, unfortunately i am nowhere near herts. have spent hours looked on google and can see a gwynnie bob - not sure how recent - which looks exactly the kind of thing i would like if my a. hair and b. bank balance are up to it! my hairdresser seems to know a lot of whats going on in celeb world so i will have a chat with her and see what she suggests. she did suggest something along those lines i think before.

at the moment i get it cut every 3 months or so or longer so i am not sure about being able to maintain a lovely cut. quite happy to colour at home in between times. yours sounds lovely though!

I go every 8 weeks otherwise it looks really shapeless ( have a bob) and pay £55 at essensuals. I'm trying to grow it at the moment so am going to go 12 weeks but it's really looking shabby! I've just had a free fringe trim though which has made it look better overall.
