Sick of the 'Pob' please re-style my hair before I weep with boredom.

I'm a woman of a certain age :(

My hair is drab, it's in a bob, oh stylish ones, what can I dooooo???

I colour it chestnut brown which suits me.

My hair is shoulder length and layered. It is darkish brown with golden low lights, I absolutely hate it! I think it makes me look like my mother, so I shove it up in a pony tail all the time. I have an appointment on Thursday morning to have it chopped off. I am thinking of going for a 'pob' like the picture 9 rows down, that I think drywhite has. When Posh first had it done I had mine done but grew it out, God knows why because I loved it and it suited me.

I would love to go shorter, but I don't have the courage. Maybe if I do it gradually the courage will slowly come!

But i think the main difference between that and a cool bob is that most peoples hair won't dry naturally into a Posh bob, that requires drying, straightening and styling.

Me too. I have an appointment over half term and the only thing I can think of to say is 'Cut it all off!' but I don't think my face will suit an old school Sinead O'Connor . My hair is dull - thin and fine and totally straight. I have always yearned to have hair that says 'I am fun and spontaneous' instead when I try to do anything not bob-like I just end up saying 'I am scruffy and I have used to much hair wax - badly' Hmmmph.

DD had her long hair cut short last week. She has thick hair and it looks luscious and lovely

My hair is a bit SamCam if I am honest. It used to always have a side parting, but for some reason last time I went she cut it so it has a centre parting.

I feel really 'mumsy' at the moment. DH and the DSes aren't helping, they keep telling me I am too old (I am 41) for a bikini and shorts. When we go shopping I don't buy anything because they say I am too old/fat for it (I'm a size 10). Apparently they are joking but I don't find it funny. I did shout, scream and cry tell them gently that it is hurting my feelings so I hope they are going to stop now!

landof your family are rude...god is size 10 fat now? And over 30 old?!!tell DH he's no oil painting and that he's got dad hair! ( god knows what that is!!)

Say NO to mumsiness....you are all young and gorgeous and you only live once so bleach,cut short, wear shorts and bikinis etc ! think I need one of these after that, but it's not 6 pm yet!

Lots of blonde highlights with a centre parting, sidey bits slightly shorter to be swept back. Make sense?! Done the short, brunette look, for yeeaarrss...So happy with my hair at the moment.

Sorry, guess you could call it bobbed all the way around but boy, it takes a LOT of work every day with the bleach, conditioning, straightening. But it's worth it & I enjoy the upkeep.

Actually I've also done the short bleached look, people always comment on my ever changing hair. I tell them I have lots of wigs.

Land don't listen to your lot, you know what suits you and makes you feel good. My dd hates that hairstyle, I showed it to her and she gave me a resounding NO! but I'm not listening to her. (She's 18 with long flowing locks).

I showed that style to my boys (17 &15) clowns and they both gave a rresounding "NO"! I wish I was brave enough to have it done. I think I will go for the 'Pob' on Thursday and then see how I feel further on into the summer. I might print off that pic though and see what my hairdresser thinks.

I like the bob that nice midwife on One Born Every Minute has but I don't have a photo. I am scared of asking for it and getting the bob the cake-loving older midwife has got. The one that looks like a wig.

i think mine is a bit like posh's in that photo BUT i have a swooshier longer front....i think i might be on profile if anyone wants a peek

when i go I ask for short and croppy around the edges, but no cutting off the length for the sides, shaped around ears, but not too exposed and keep the angle from jaw back up to ear

...and i tell them to get the hell away if they start with the thinning scissors....my hair goes too floofy if they contemplate layers or thinning, it's quite fine and needs a bit og weight behind it.

I'm growing my hair at the moment, from short at sides and back with long swooshy fringe. Looking around me I'm panicking at having a mum-bob! I'm going to put it in a scruffy side parting and have a longish choppy fringe.
