Boob job

Helo all - wanted to get some opinions on any mums who have had boob jobs and if they would recommend them? I've been considering this for a while as my breasts are completely screwed after two babies And breast feeding. Really damaging my
confidence. I know it's such a massive procedure though and one I wouldn't undertake lightly!

To sum it all up.... Would any of you do anything different???

They do not 'chop your nipples off' Grin They only move nipples when doing a reduction, not an augmentation.

I am shamelessly using this thread to ask a few questions as was planning to start my own on the very same thing! After massive consideration and for the very same reasons as many I think I am going to go for breast enhancement but the internet is a minefield of info and its hard to filter the good from the bad and the ugly. I do not want big footballs on my front; I dont want it to be hugely obvious just a bit more shapely with volume after bfeeding. At present an a-cup is baggy and its knocking my confidence terribly. Mybreast seems to be recommended on this thread? Does anyone have any more recommendations or for a particular surgeonn??? Sorry for the hijack!!!

Bootus- I've decided to go to a bupa hospital. Don't trust any of the other company's but I would consider mybreast. I agree though that the Internet just confuses me and they all sound like 'the best option' x

Bootus I had Stephen Hamilton at Mybreast & he was lovely & I had utmost confidence in him. Depends if you're in London (or nearby) though. He doesn't do footballs :)

Re: nipples, after I had my BA the first thing I noticed when I woke up was that my nipples flattened and plumped out and looked like they did before kids (after bf they sort of shrivelled up!) - I guess that was a side effect I didn't expect but it added to the overall good appearance.

If I had my time again I absolutely would do the same thing.

bootus - good surgery should not be obvious. Nobody knows I've had it done and I'm never asked about it. Obviously boyfriends figure it out because they are much firmer if you have implants. My parents don't even know....

perceptionreality · 19/03/2012 15:05

MyBreast is not like the other companies as they just refer you to a surgeon in your area. There was no hard sell when I used them (hope it's still the same!) They also put out a statement saying they had never used PIP implants as it was always widely known that they were inferior quality.

bootus · 19/03/2012 15:21

Thankyou for the responses; yes Sparkelgeek I am in London so will have a look at him. Perception, you have basically described to a t what I want...the surgery being inconspicuous and natural as it isnt something I will broadcast...I suspect most people will think I'm mad for even considering it. Couple quick q's; is recovery going to be realistic with two small children, and from making the decision how long did it take to actually have the surgery?Once again thanks.

Mybreast sound good.... How old r Ur babies? Mine are 1 and 3 and u was worried about recovery but from what people have said it varies?

Bootus I had them as a Christmas present from DH (!), did my research, went for consultations with 3 different companies (other 2 were Transform & Harley Medical Group & I would've ended up with PIP implants with both of those) & had them done with Mybreast at the start of March! Not sure whether it was luck, fate, gut feeling or just well-informed decision making, but I made the right choice!

Have no regrets at all & it completely transformed how I see myself & how I dress.

You will struggle with 2 young children if you're at home alone. Get your DH to take some leave or make some other arrangement - my Mum stayed with me for a couple of weeks!

bootus · 19/03/2012 17:13

Wrenner - are you me? Grin, mine are 1 and 3 as well.
Thanks sparklegeek you are making me feel more confident in getting the ball rolling. Unfortunately this is something my normally affable mum would not agree with so dont think I will even tell her. My oh is a teacher so if I can time it right at the beginning of a holiday that might be ok. Would a week with support be sufficient? My other issue is that I'm getting married in aug (abroad) and would LOVE to feel a bit more curvy in my dress (sans chicken fillets/gel bras etc)and bikini in front of all out friends etc but equally I dont want to rush this decision just based on a fortnights holiday!

Sparklegeek · 19/03/2012 18:51

Hmmm, tricky. That really only leaves you with May half-term to get it done, doesn't it? And you don't want to rush into making the decision. On the other hand, I only took 2 months to get it all arranged & if I was you I would def want it done for a beach wedding (congrats!)

I'm a bit dubious as to whether a week's help will be enough, given the ages of your children. Mine were all at school/playschool, so I wasn't having to lift them, but I did need my Mum around for buggy duties, etc, for a good couple of weeks. It all depends on exactly what you have done - my implants are under my chest muscle & that involves a greater recovery than ones placed over the muscle (it's dependent on how much breast tissue you have as to where they're positioned). I did have one friend who had implants over the muscle together with an uplift & she managed with no extra help - it does vary greatly from person to person. I guess you need a surgeon to advise rather than me!

Wrenner · 19/03/2012 19:52

I think u need to feel extra beautiful on your wedding day! Smile
Aw u have a 1 year and 3 year too! Lol! Lots of lifting though!! Sad my mum doesn't Want me to get one.... What's more worrying for me is not the initial operation or recovery but if I got an infection and then my partner needing time off. His job wouldn't allow it and nearest family 5 hours away?! Contemplating getting it done near my mums???

My kids were 5 and 3 when I had mine done. I did not find the recovery difficult at all - it's just awkward to sleep for a while.
