My hair is baaad and I need your help (pictures on profile for limited period only)

I hate going to the hairdresser, I really do. For the last few years I've got round this by doing the good old MN haircut, with varying degrees of success. In between haircuts, I've tended to straighten my hair so it looks vaguely presentable.

Now, two things have happened:

• The GHDs have died
• So I tried to cut my hair and totally ballsed it up.

And furthermore, I seem to suddenly have curly hair.
So, I've booked myself into a proper hairdresser on Saturday, and am now very, very nervous indeed. And I haven't got a clue what I want anyway.

So what do I ask for (other than a paper bag to cover my head breathe into)?

I'm not completely blown away by it, but its far better than it was. Hairdresser took a bit more off than I'd have planned for as it was just in such a split-endy horrible state.

I am a hair obsessive and I think yours looks really nice. I like the waves and I wouldn't straighten it tbh. I hate going to the hairdresser too, because
a) I can't bear being messed around with
b) I'm worried they'll do something horrid

But it's worth it to get a decent cut.

It's lovely - the curls look soft and romantic.
I did like the way it swept at the front before, but I suspect that's the way it falls naturally and the hairdresser had to give you your money'sworth, so it'll end up that way anyway.

Yup, i like it a lot! The curls look great. Agree with shotgun about the sweep at the front.

Its nice. I like the sweeping fringe but I would wreck it by constantly pushing it back with my fingers.
