To the lovely dentists.... I have to use Dr Organic toothpaste because normal stuff that contains SLS gives me horrible ulcers. I think it has a lower amount of fluoride.... Should I be worried?!

I have been considering teeth whitening through my dentist - but after a clean up from the hygienist they look much much better already! So I'm putting it off a while longer.

I was chatting to a dental receptionist and she told me that the one they use/sell at the clinic is this:

I can't believe no one has mentioned this... 3% hydrogen peroxide! 99p at superdrug chemist or boots. Has to be 3% and the liquid, not Creme like the stupid woman in Sally's told me to use!
Baking soda paste! Homemade once a week for a month then once a month. strawberries are meant to work too.. Google that one, I've not done it.
Put a cap full of hp 3% in a plastic beaker with a cap full of water stir and gargle for (I do until I'm bored) 1-2 mins.

Seriously the effects are amazing!
I'm bad and do do it neat sometimes if I'm going out - just be careful it can burn.

Hydrogen peroxide sounds good!

Lovethebubbles - have you tried Biotene toothpaste? It contains fluoride but is SLS free. I recommend it often to patients with dry mouth (doctor not dentist) and people tend to be very happy with it.

most normal teeth are not the joke-white of the Hollywood stars. Many of those photos are faked.

white teeth are weak teeth, which is why the dentists on here are saying that if you do want the silly bleached look, you need to get a professional to do it.

as for gargling with hydrogen peroxide.....Shock
