New bowl of crisps, tuck in Ruby!

I am thrilled at this Pixi lust. Another of their things wot I like is the cheek gel in natural. It doesn't stay on very long but while it does it's well pretty.

I felt a bit rubbish yesterday and spent much too long hunched over the computer looking at not very edifying things. Today is better. Have shredded, spot cleaned the stair carpet, written a letter to DD who will be at an outdoor pursuity place with school next week and am now going out to buy some fabric conditioner at Wilkos. When the mice are away the cat does rather boring things, it would seem Blush.

Feck, I tell you, it used to stick in my craw when I had to send her a mother's day card.

Sorry. Back under my stone now. Am all hot under the collar.

oldqueenie · 18/03/2012 21:36

Shock Shock Shock

OMGShock

I feel pretty lucky with my slightly irritating, Benidorm-watching out-laws!

TheReturnOfStropperella · 18/03/2012 21:39

Yeah, well, that was why I put up with my first husband and his oddities for 10 years. Who wouldn't turn out a bit loopy with a mother like that?

TheReturnOfStropperella · 18/03/2012 21:58

Sorry, sorry, I really should know better than to open than particular can of worms. There are so many ghastly things about her that it really is better not to mention any of them.

MrsS, didn't mean to imply that your mother has a fondness for drink, either.

CointreauVersial · 18/03/2012 22:02

Good lord.

I should clearly thank my lucky stars that I have a lovely, sane, caring mother, who cooked me lunch today, was very appreciative of her flowers, didn't mind that I fell asleep on the sofa after lunch, and is coming over for two days at Easter to help out with childcare without being asked.

oldqueenie · 18/03/2012 22:05

you see, for me, that's just as Shock Shock Shock Smile

I am Shock at all these mil and mum stories too! Aside from a dodgy year or so at the beginning (due to them thinking dp was going to marry some other girl) my mil is lovely - a bit dappy, but the most amazing nana and is having ds AND the dog for a couple of days at Easter. My mum is amazing too, and if I was to make any criticism it is that she lacks confidence in spades and never pushed us. We all lack confidence and assurance (something I am trying to remedy in ds). My mum was very happy with her (non) mothers day card - she does do twee or pink....

Blackduck · 19/03/2012 06:23

Doesnt

Blackduck · 19/03/2012 06:24

Ruby - he's really easy to look after - honest Wink

DukesOfTripHazard · 19/03/2012 10:25

Flipping heck. If I ever created characters as fabulous ly awful as Granny Doom and Stropps ex MIL and mum I would be delighted with myself. Managing to criticize 'Happy Mothers Day' is superb!

I had a lovely day at Sis and mum's. Mum is doing excellently and is completely independent and feeling great again. DD1 did a lovely job of spoiling me with breakfast in bed (after consoling me after I'd dissolved into tears about what a rubbish sleep I'd had). When I went down, DD2 was watching TV. I said hello and then in a nice non-threatening voice said 'is there anything you want to say to me? and she replied 'Shhh' Grin

Not only did I get gorgeous flars, they also bought me a lovely candle holder and scented candle. We had a lovely day, but I fear it will be back to normal today!

Blackduck · 19/03/2012 20:19

Ladies page 2! Slacking! Or are you too busy reading F4J threads.. (or coloured jeans :) )

bigTillyMint · 19/03/2012 20:22

None of those! I am just appreciating my scented candleSmile

TheReturnOfStropperella · 19/03/2012 21:13

Too busy cleaning and tidying. I thought I kept relatively on top of these things, but now I realise I was deluding myself.

oldqueenie · 19/03/2012 21:51

oldqueenie · 19/03/2012 21:54

well i'm very tempted to give it a go. most of the ones i've seen are either ridiculously expensive or the wrong colour for me. i'm hoping i cn wear it instead of cardigans etc to make me look a bit more pulled together iykwim but fear effect may be more stereotypical lesbian

CointreauVersial · 19/03/2012 22:19

OQ, it's a great jacket - I have a grey suede biker jacket that I bought in a second-hand shop, and I love it.

oldqueenie · 19/03/2012 22:24
