Today i went for a bra fitting at M&S and was told by the 2 bemused/horrified ladies that i was unbra-able. No size fits me. I am a freak.

I have known this for years, but was hoping that they may have something for me.

So i think i may need to get some made to measure. Does anyone know of a good bra makers?

Now i'm pregnant too i am becoming very uncomfortable.

Cheers :)

thanks seven but the problem is i have been fitted, by john lewis too, but i am then told no bras will fit me. It is easier for bigger boobed ladies than myself. Bravissimo is not for me sadly. So despite knowing my size not one bra has ever fitted me.

So what shall i do about getting fitted? if i go to debenhams and have the same response i am just going to curl up and die. :(

I will get fitted again but i cannot imagine there will be much difference to what i have already been told and i can't imagine ever being able to find pretty bras that make me feel sexy because the just don't make them for my size. Unlike the ones for those at your end of the spectrum.

why is bravissimo not for you spuddy? i am convinced you are in the wrong size.

if i measure myself as the books say i should be in a 38 and i know for a fact that that is wrong! i wear a 34 and sometimes even thats too big.

throw away the tape measure. got and get fitted.

bear in mind that if you have been wearing bras that are too baggy a well fitted one will feel tight....

i dont think your cup size is the iissue - i think your wearing the wrong size altogether.

Hi spuddy, I used to be a bra fitter and you're not alone, I can totally sympathise. The way you are describing the fit of the bras, it sounds to me that you've got the size about right, it's more that the bras you've tried just aren't the right 3D shape for you. If your norks are more far apart, then a balconette style bra would suit you better, but unfortunately, there's not much choice out there:( Try online, but you'll have to order lots and see what fits, it's not just about the size, different brands will come up different.

Also, if your pg, then you're going to be better off in a non-wired bra anyway. I hope this doesn't sound rude, but have you thought about just wearing hidden support vests? Some can be very supportive, and much prettier than the bras you're likely to find. You could try adding padding to these if you need it.

yes Dainty Lady has lots of lovely bras, i know you want something feminine.

If you do actually measure 40 under your breasts, then thats what you are. When i worked at R&P, wider back and smaller bust was more tricky to fit.

yes to balcony or half cup styles.

also, you may fit into a 38b.

What about trying a vest top on?
You could get a cropped one, that sits below the bust, but one that has got really strong lycra in it, so that it stretches over your bust, rather than baggy.

Can't guarantee this is the answer, but I used to do that when I had tiny boobs that were too small for a bra but still needed support.

I have boobs on the side of my chest too - and they are small and I am broad of back.
Don't go to another department store, try a small indie lingerie shop, and I am sure they will help you. I've had lots of lovely bras that way.

The M&S secret support vests with bra cups are great as they have padding for some shape, but stretch nicelt round you

If you like the shape of your bikinis, La redoute do some nice triangle bras, they only go up to a 36, but you could try them with a bra extender.

Thanks all.

38b are defo a wrong fit i have tried them before. I have a tiny cup.

vicar bravissimao is not for me because the cups start at a d i think. I havealready been in a few years back and told they couldn't help me. My bras have never been baggy thay are always tight.

I have ordered some 40a's online - i'll let you know what happens.

shell the only bras i have ever had which have ever remotely fit have been balconette. Sadly a lot of smaller cupped styles are push ins, because they are trying to boost your cleavage.

I like balconette too - my favourite bras are the Elle McPherson balconette, which come up quite small in the cup

sexy and front fastening 40a - just add a pretty (jewelled?) 1 hook bra extender...

I was left with a sideways roll of fat under my arms after a bad surgery procedure
I have never been able to find a bra that fits me comfortably
I am a 38c and regular bras either cut in, collapse under the weight of the roll or do not come up high enough under the arm. Can you help. I need a bra especially made for me

OP I have wide set boobs as well and I get your pain (although I am a 32DD). It is very hard to get bras as I need wide apart cups and also shallow cups too. What works sometimes with me when I find a bra that sort of fits is to bend the underwired out a bit to make the cup wider - so instead of a narrow 'U' shape the cup wide is more of a wider 'u'. Does that make sense?

And also you need to do lots of bending forward and scooping all of the breast tissue under your arm etc into the cup. That made a huge difference to me. Good luck :)
