Camper do some great trainer-y type shoes. I think their website is camper.com but you could just Google it otherwise. I love their range of Twins shoes where each shoe is different but complementary to the other one. They have a shop just off Regent St.

I wear Skechers all the time, I'm currently wearing a brown pair with velcro crossover strap thingys. They're very forgiving on pregnant feet too

Enid · 10/01/2006 19:45

I quite fancy those yellow and black trendy ones

Adidas fan here -lots of classic styles and colours.

I have some excellent trainers that I bought in an independent shoe shop a couple of years ago. They are suede and kind of retro, chunky with a lovely rounded toe (they look like a kid's drawing of a trainer). This is no use to you at all but I thought I would mention them as they are "Fly of London" and I have just googled them and they are designer and trendy! Oooh I have a designer and trendy thing! Very chuffed.

marthamoo · 10/01/2006 19:48

I quite fancy a pair of those velcro crossover-y ones.

CountessDracula · 10/01/2006 19:49

I have skechers too they are fab

Look on the schuch website enid

Best place to buy them is Neal St Covent Gdn or the schuch store is at 200 oxford st if you can bear to go there

CountessDracula · 10/01/2006 19:50

when are you coming to London and for how long? Where are you staying? Fancy meeting up with me and P?

marthamoo · 10/01/2006 19:51

This is a good shoe website - James and James Good for browsing - no good if you want to try on.

Prufrock · 10/01/2006 19:58

Another vote for skechers - I have 2 pairs of the velcro crossover ones in pink and blue, and brown. Bets thing about them is that you can just slip them on and yet still not feel that they are going to slip off. And they don't look too chunky

meggmoo · 10/01/2006 20:01

The puma Monstro ones in slate are fab (Bf wears them) Can't beat the shell toe Adidas ones or Dunlop green flash if you want to go retro

TeddyRobinson · 10/01/2006 20:04

these are a bit like the ones I wear a lot - mine are the same shape etc but white with green stripes and I have another pair that are cream with navy stripes. VEEEEERy comfy.

Smurfgirl · 10/01/2006 20:19

I wear Puma Mostro and I just bought some new Faith ones in the sale here

Faith have loads of nice ones. I quite like Schuh for trainers as well I want some Dunlops.

kitegirl · 11/01/2006 04:03

Onisuka Tiger. THE trainer of all trainers. There's a shop off Carnaby Street ih Soho. Size? also sells them. Get the Mexico '68s.

bobbybobbobbingalong · 11/01/2006 07:22

I bought some slip on Adidas ones. Very good when pg as don't have to tie up laces, do up velcro.

Enid · 11/01/2006 11:06

thats it kitegirl - they are the yellow and black ones right?

CD my schedule is hectic to say the least. But I am coming up again in a few weeks when it should be more mellow and I would LOVE to meet up then.

spacedonkey · 11/01/2006 11:11

I like those mexico ones

What about some good old converse baseball boots?

Enid · 11/01/2006 11:13

actually the slip on thing is an excellent idea as I am beginning to find putting shoes and socks on a bit of a trial (already ). I have some red silk adidas slip ons but they are not massively practical

I bought some purple satin slip on adidas ones in a sale once, but they make me look like a ridiculous old woman who forgot to take her slippers off
