Are nude heels REALLY last season ?

Northumberlandlass · 14/11/2011 07:49

That's it really.
I have 3 dresses to wear over the Christmas party season (Blue / red / pale blue) and I only have black shoes. I wanted something I could wear with all three and nude heels seemed the way to go.

What do you think ? Any of other recommendations ?

look how nice these ones are!

partyhats · 14/11/2011 12:40

leopard print would look lovely with the red dress, these are quite nice although perhaps not high enough
oasis

LaurieFairyCake · 14/11/2011 12:40

pewter would go with everything I think

Nippysnippy · 14/11/2011 12:41

Ebay can turn up some gems.
Pewter may work with your dresses without being OTT.

Nippysnippy · 14/11/2011 12:41

Great minds....

Nippysnippy · 14/11/2011 12:44

Very pretty LAURIE....I love those last ones.

Northumberlandlass · 14/11/2011 12:45

Ok - so no to nude heels ?
Can you look at these two dresses & find me alternatives ?

I really appreciate it!

Metallics are neutral and go with loads of things I always think.

Northumberlandlass · 14/11/2011 12:47

Sorry, Laurie - cross posts !

The pewter ones are nice, I'm not really a strappy type of shoe lady. Size 8 too Sad

I have a red dress (coast) for a new years eve wedding.

Will be wearing with leopard print chunky heels.

Black + red = moulin rouge imo.

ENormaSnob · 14/11/2011 12:52

Really love your dresses North.

The red one is similar to the one I am wearing nye.

Seen some gold glitter ones that would go nicely but can't remember where Blush

Northumberlandlass · 14/11/2011 12:53

I maybe could do leopard print, chunky heels with the red dress. Then find something else for the blue one ?

I was thinking some form of pink might go with both - not quite pale pink (if you and noddy are right and nude is out) but def. some form of pink, towards the less anaemic end of the pink spectrum. Colour blocking (clashing) is still in, really, isn't it?

I'll admit that in fits of shoe desperation, I've been known to take the dress/es out with me and visit shoe-shops and then beg to be allowed to use a stock room to "dress up" in. But that is probably going too far for most people. Blush

Mind you, surely you'll be safe with the sequinny black ones?

By the way, lol at Noddy's "Loose Women" test of "over-ness".

theseventhdwarf · 14/11/2011 13:17

hmm how can you guarantee the 'designer ' ones on ebay are real though?

zara

nude

animula · 14/11/2011 13:21

I like seventhdwarf's choices. they'll see you through nights of partying from elegant, Bianca Jagger- type fun to cobblestone-skittering, dawn-breaking hours in E. London.

noddyholder · 14/11/2011 13:37

theseventh I love those flower ones

SeeLyon · 14/11/2011 13:46

i used to go on about plastic shoes till i realised i sounded like my mother

SeeLyon · 14/11/2011 13:46

for me 10cm is the limit

12 is just debilitating

Nippysnippy · 14/11/2011 13:48

Next Offers section have a muted nude pair with peep toe/ jewels in a size 8 £15. These would def work with the grey dress and it's embellishment. Look under formal shoes.
HTH.
