Scented candles as good as Jo Malone but less expensive?

I love the smell of Jo Malone candles, especially the pomegranate one but they are too expensive to be anything more than a luxury. Ive tried lots of others but they either dont have any scent or the scent doesnt last.

Does anyone know of a good alternative.

Isle of Skye candles are gorgeous. Highly recommend!

TinyDiamond · 20/01/2014 00:48

Sooooo second thread in a few mins that I've said this but... Next, 'blanc white light' £9. Trust me on this. So good and lasts well.

PastaandCheese · 20/01/2014 09:28

The White Company for me too.

MrsMeow · 20/01/2014 12:28

TinyDiamond, do you find that its quite a subtle scent though? I bought the Noir one as I have the diffuser and love it, but the candle didn't smell of anything at all to me? I wonder if the Blanc is stronger.

TinyDiamond · 20/01/2014 15:26

I think it is lovely and strong it smells like Tom Ford white patchouli. Can still smell it the next morning when I go into room if have had it on night before. Have had a reed thingy same smell on the go since mid october and it is only half gone so they last 6 months. Not bad for £14 I don' t think.

Better value than rituals etc.

MrsMeow · 20/01/2014 20:17

the reed things are v good value for money, I agree. I wish they did the perfume though like they do with some of the others, I'd definitely wear it as a scent.

I might give the Blanc one a go then, maybe I had a bit of a dodgy one. Love Tom Ford as well so that's swayed it! Hopefully they'll start doing a Grey Vetiver scented one soon Wink

TinyDiamond · 20/01/2014 21:12

I think they do do a perfume! check the website but I am sure I saw an edt at christmas think it was only £8

TinyDiamond · 20/01/2014 21:13

Roll on payday I am off to next for home frangrances!

Thants · 20/01/2014 23:38

Yankee candles all the way. I want them all! A lot of the Xmas ones you can get half prove atm. They don't all smell too Christmassy! I bought 2 today for 50% off at Clinton's.

beachyhead · 20/01/2014 23:43

Zara home candles are amazing and 19.99 for a huge three wick candle

MrsAlwaysRight · 21/01/2014 09:56

I tried two candles from Arran Aromatics and was really disappointed as I could hardly smell them at all. Will be going back to NEOM.

anchovies · 21/01/2014 10:08

MrsAlwaysRight - I always go back to Neom too. I think Inspiration is my favourite one but I love most of them.

MrsAlwaysRight · 21/01/2014 15:04

anchovies they have a sale on at the moment! Grin

anchovies · 22/01/2014 10:09

Oh no! I checked for a sale earlier in the month and my credit card thought it had escaped!

hollyisalovelyname · 22/01/2014 16:36

Parks London Original or Hyacinth- often on Brand Alley
Max Benjamin -Mimosa is lovely

ElizabethBathory · 22/01/2014 16:48

I bought some St Eval candles after seeing them recommended on this thread, and they are totally lovely. Brilliant customer service too - the Sandalwood one I bought wasn't burning properly so they replaced it immediately and chucked in a load of scented tealights for free :) (There was a problem with the new formula of the sandalwood fragrance)

Bay & Rosemary, Inspiritus, Apple and Elderflower and Seasalt all gorgeous (I went a bit mad Blush)

amazonianwoman · 22/01/2014 17:58

Which Neom fragrances do you recommend?

And which White Company other than Winter?

I've had enough of cinnamon/wintery smells and would love something a bit fresher in anticipation of spring and to cover up the lingering smell of oil eggshell on my new kitchen units Grin

MrsAlwaysRight · 22/01/2014 18:03

I really like NEOM's Tranquility which is lavender, basil and jasmine. It is quite strong which I personally like but DH thinks it's overpowering!

ElizabethBathory do the St Eval ones have a strong scent? I like the sound of the bay and rosemary one - I love rosemary.

AmberLeaf · 22/01/2014 18:08

I love the Glade ones too. honey and chocolate and the pink one. love something?

hollyisalovelyname · 22/01/2014 23:55

Neom Morrocan Rose is lovely

ItsaMissTerri · 23/01/2014 00:05

Another vote for Neom...loved the since they were called Natural Magic ...last for ages and smell even when unlit...the grapefruit bergamot and lime is lovely and a nice change to all the warming "winter" candles around over Christmas

ItsaMissTerri · 23/01/2014 00:08

Oh...and as for White Company ...I like the wild mint one for a change it's not minty like chewing gum minty, just really fresh and clean smelling

BeaLola · 23/01/2014 00:31

I like the wild mint one too from The White Company in my kitchen or outside in the summer evenings.

Rosieliveson · 23/01/2014 05:12

Woodwick candles are beautiful.
They smell gorgeous whilst burning. Ice tried a few scents. Other than lily which was very mild they have all be beautiful and smell very good.

amazonianwoman · 23/01/2014 09:04

Thanks all for the recommendations.
