Hello there - my! conversation moved on a bit since that first post I read. LOL!!!

GingerBearingGifts · 22/12/2005 22:04

Sleigh-me-dear, you looked fabulous at the MN do - why don't you wear that again?

Sleighmenere · 22/12/2005 22:06

Thanks GB, the old wrap dress is a marvellous friend to me

desperatehousewife · 22/12/2005 22:20

will be wearing nothing but an apron!

Rudolphthebluenosedteddy · 22/12/2005 22:22

I have no idea what I will wear on Christmas Day.
I may put on a slightly better top than normal, but I don't tend to really dress up.

desperatehousewife · 22/12/2005 22:22

just checked out spanx pants (never heard of them before) do they work? Am in the market for a bit of hold-me-in magic

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 22/12/2005 22:28

We go to MIL christmas day and my parents boxing day so that they all get to see the children and spoil them rotten so yes we dress up and make more of an effort than we would if we stayed at home.

wewishyouaClaryChristmas · 23/12/2005 13:23

We all dress up a bit. I am planning on wearing new Boden togs (velvet trimmed cardie, a bit glammy.
And yes, I do wear an apron (always when baking).

IOTAnnenbaum · 23/12/2005 13:29

oooh defoo a sparkly top for me

and an apron when cooking, cleaning, or hand washing

am I the only person here who makes a mess doing all of the above?

lou33 · 23/12/2005 13:32

i try and stay in my pyjamas all day

jambothesnowman · 23/12/2005 14:33

we get all dressed too for xmas dinner. in the evening we kinda lounge about eating loads and watching kids new dvd's

swedishmum · 23/12/2005 23:44

Mil and sil are both previous beauty queens. I'm not. Find it all very stressful. Plus sil likes Celine Dion and I'm a bit more rock chick. My excuse for looking scruffy and hungover anyway.

KeyserSoze · 24/12/2005 09:11

i wear aqn arpon evert time i cook!!
too many grease splatters on clothes otherewise

NutcrackingXmas · 24/12/2005 09:13

I always buy a new top for me and a new top or outfit for the kids. Dp goes mad but it is a tradition.

I am wearing black trousers, a pink camisole type top and a pink shrug.

Ds has new shirt, dd1 has a new dress and shrug and dd2 has new top and trousers.

Dp said he wasn't bothered so has nowt.

bobbybobbobbingalong · 24/12/2005 09:14

I bought some hipster pj pants.

fruitcake · 24/12/2005 12:52

Yes but I wish I didn't have to. Not when I'm frantically trying to cook & organise the dc & dh, etc. We're expected at my mother's tonight & she asked me to wear something "other than jeans, dear". Groan.

fruitcake · 24/12/2005 12:52

oh, what will I wear tomorrow? standard LBD.

knottedchest · 24/12/2005 13:17

We dress up. Santa delivers a christmas day outfit for the children and I wear what I would wear to go out for a meal.

Enideepmidwinter · 24/12/2005 14:29

I have a short stripy tunic dress from top shop (worn as a top as I am 23 weeks pg) with a pair of black trousers. Long pearl necklace knotted at the bottom in a true 80's style. Flat black shoes that will be off for most of the time (apart from when in church). Long camel coat and lavender pashmina for church

Enideepmidwinter · 24/12/2005 14:31

Grown up make up and 'done' hair

dd1 is wearing her monsoon skirt and scummy's pearly tights
dd2 is wearing a fairy outfit

puffoeufnog · 24/12/2005 14:34

I'm wearing a funky blue grey "ragged" hem skirt from Next that has a bit of silver embroidery, plus a grey cashmere jumper and some impossibly high black knee length black suede boots - I will totter down to church in them but wear my slipper socks at home methinks.
