We have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks, and I have a lovely dress for it. But don't want to wear a coat. I bought the stole and have borrowed an antique brooch from mil, overall, I really like the look. Dh does not. But he lives in shorts and should therefore be ignored, right?

I think you could tone down the rat effect if you wore a fur bolero type jacket rather than a stole.

There's something about the way it's just resting there that does make it seem like you've draped a dead rat around your shoulders. Sorry, I guess I'm with DH!

seriously, I had a look at pashmina's today and they're just so dull. I also looked at bolero's and they dont suit the neckline of the dress at all. at least with the stole, it is in line with the neck of the dress.

I think it looks like it cost £8.99 from new look-sorry-and I say this as someone who shops in there quite regularly. I love stoles but I would trawl charity shops for something vintage or get a more expensive one from some where like Monsoon.

Ive had a look in charity shops and cant find one, and cant afford monsoon. it really does look better in rl. the picture quality on my phone isnt great (plus, the first pic dh took made my hips look bloody enormous thanks to the angle.
