How do non-Londoners keep with fashion trends? I used to buy two key pieces each season. Now I live in torn cords and fleeces. Haven't a CLUE how to keep up. No one notices in the countree if you live in the same outfit. Where to START?

they do notice believe me

you need to shop online

where do you live?

Where is your nearest BIG town?

Enideepmidwinter · 12/12/2005 09:42

nothing wrong with cords as long as they are NOT TORN and pref from the Gap

ditto fleeces very useful for the school run walking the dog etc

BUT you need other stuff. How old are you?

morningpaper · 12/12/2005 09:42

Exeter nearest BIG town i.e. with H&M.

what dress size?

Enideepmidwinter · 12/12/2005 09:44

OK so you've got H and M and Debenhams and Gap there - that'll do for a start.

Get some trousers from Gap then lots of trendy tops from Hennes. A good coat from Debs.

What do you wear if you get asked round for dinner?

TheFish · 12/12/2005 09:48

mp don't go with your kids - it's a recipe for disaster. Can your dp not have them for a couple of hours - even the evening (lots of shops doing late night shopping this week and next).

puddle · 12/12/2005 10:19

I really remember trying to get some clothes after I had my second and was in tears by the end of it - I was so desperate to imporve my appearance and just couldn't think straight or see what looked nice with the two of them alongside me. Go with kids and you'll end up with mumsy practical stuff - go alone and you'll rediscover the inner Fox.
