Marks and Spencer have invented a skirt version of jeggings - has anyone seen?

It's wrong, right?

I mean, it's from marks. It has an elasticated waist. But I'm kind of seeing where they're coming from.

Not tried one on.

Has anyone got one?

No! Dreadful length and comfy clothes make you complacent about stuffing your face! I do love a pencil skirt but think you need a big bum to look good in them

wildfig · 07/09/2011 15:57

When I saw that skirt on the hanger in M&S I assumed it was one of those pregnancy skirts with the elastic section to go over the expanding bump and couldn't work out what it was doing downstairs in the 'comfy velour' section.

Then I looked up and saw it on the plastic mannequin, with a pair of leggings and one of their pointless jersey blankets scarves. Even she looked a bit embarrassed.

Also why have they styled the website model to look like one of the Addicted to Love video women, caught in an offduty moment?

LaurieFairyCake · 07/09/2011 16:03

I had one in 1988, it had a silver zip down the middle of it too. Those were the days - back when I was 16 and a size 8/10.

I'd get one now if it didn't wiggle up. I'm hourglass shape and a size 18. It would look nice with a knitted tunic I have. And I'm sick of leggings.

I'm and apple and wear these for work. (you need to scroll down a bit). They are ever so slightly stretchy so compress yet don't dig in.

CointreauVersial · 07/09/2011 18:35

Yikes, unpleasant 80s flashback.

geraldinetheluckygoat · 07/09/2011 18:36

Those look nice, Slug. What kind of material are they?

slug · 07/09/2011 22:43

A thick, slightly stretchy cotton

talkingnonsense · 08/09/2011 21:36

I like those too slug. Where did you find them? Would you say they were true to size?

slug · 09/09/2011 11:50

I buy them from a stall in Greenwich market. The sizes are pretty generous and, because they are well cut, the trick is, if you are having a heavey day you wear them higher and as you lose weight, the waistband sits lower and lower.

Al0uiseG · 09/09/2011 11:56

They look lovely

talkingnonsense · 11/09/2011 08:37

Mmm really fancy one but can I justify it? What would you lot wear with them?

missmartha · 11/09/2011 09:05

Another who wore skirts like that 20 years ago. I like.
