this one

If you read this - thanks! I love it and judging by the comments I have had when wearing it, so do others!

I have ordered the pink one they do too and although not as nice I still really like it. You've saved me a fortune from buying elsewhere!

Thanks

Yes, please do. the sellers are very aware of the thread and will do all they can to help i think.

What can they do about falsely advertising something as cashmere/silk when its clearly not?

Its not as if they are going to send me a new cashmere on is it?

I dont want a refund or a replacement, I just want people to be aware of what they are buying and for sellers to think twice about basically lying.

Just because a load of MNers have bought this scarf and left positive feedback, doesnt mean I cant express my views.

SemperUbiSubUbi · 14/09/2011 20:00

Greggs Are you one of the sellers? Hmm Grin

fergoose · 14/09/2011 20:12

If the item is not as described you should email the seller first to resolve it before leaving feedback.

gregssausageroll · 14/09/2011 20:17

um, no.

I always thought you should contact the seller before leaving negative or neutral feedback but I am no expert when it comes to ebay.

I told them about the thread though when I ordered another scarf.

Hmm Semper, I totally agree with you that they shouldn't be miselling items as something that they are not.

In fact, (and I'm well aware that this makes me sound totally wanky Grin), I wouldn't have ordered mine if the listing had still said cashmere/silk - and no label on mine either luckily.

However I do think that "Ebay etiquette" is to contact the seller first before leaving negative feedback. At least gives them the chance to respond to you officially and to change the listing if they know what's right and want to avoid Trading Standards.

I hear what you are saying re not wanting refund etc but I do think you need to go through the "proper channels" which in Ebay world is contacting first etc. Just as if, should you have a problem with a real shop you'd be advised to speak with the manager before shouting the odds on the shop floor Grin

BarbaraWoodlouse · 14/09/2011 20:21

Gah, miselling items or selling items as something they are not!

SemperUbiSubUbi · 14/09/2011 20:29

I will message them, not sure what could possibly come from it though and I will still be telling the truth in the feedback like I always do.

SleepyFergus · 14/09/2011 22:53

Ah jeez, reading all your posts, I just went and ordered a purple one. Can't wait now!!!!

MissFoodie · 14/09/2011 23:27

repeating oneself

I cannot thank you wonderful Mners enough for the Ebay scarf tip-off. I have a real brown Louis - it was a gift a couple of years ago;I had wanted it since forever. It is a thing of beauty but so impractical it's untrue.
The first time I wore it I got loads of pulls in the cashmere and it's been stressorama ever since, so I rarely wear it. I only joined MN recently and was intrigued by the long thread. I reckoned the Ebay scarf would be crapola and look cheap as chips but couldn't resist getting one for the hell of it. Well, it's been the best tenner I've ever spent. Mine came the day after I paid for it and it looks so similar I can't get over it. Granted if you touch it cashmere it ain't but who the hell cares? It's soft and you can wash it. Fried egg all over it - no worries.
A super-stylish friend commented on my devil may care attitude, having it on at work, as she thought I was wearing my real one (til' she felt it). Anyway, I shared the 'secret' and she has ordered one too.
I've got 3 sisters so that's what they're getting for Christmas. I've ordered the red and purple/navy ones tonight so we'll see how they pan out. Think the real one will stay in the cupboard where I can't ruin it. Thank you so much.

DameDoom · 14/09/2011 23:55

Sorry - tracking back to beginning of thread I've realised 'tis Madammecholet who must be thanked. Thank you muchly indeed - I shall hang on your evry word.Grin

you lot moaning abotu it not being cashemere

fgs get a life.
of course its not

mistressploppy · 15/09/2011 11:06

ireally - I don't think people are really moaning about it not being cashmere, no-one EXPECTS cashmere at that price, they just don't like the fact that the listing states it is, when this could easily be changed.

SemperUbiSubUbi · 15/09/2011 11:33

Yes thats right mistress

ireally bit rude?

ireallyagreewithyou · 15/09/2011 11:38

i hope so

ChinaInYourHands · 15/09/2011 12:24

Why do you all want a scarf that everyone else is wearing anyway??? Gawd....

fergoose · 15/09/2011 12:27

Semper - did the seller reply to you?

mistressploppy · 15/09/2011 12:29

Because we like it, China! No subterfuge, really.

Or should we NOT buy it because lots of people have?

SemperUbiSubUbi · 15/09/2011 12:40

fergoose No, not yet.

China I presume you only wear one off custom made clothes then?

ChinaInYourHands · 15/09/2011 12:41

I've had to look up subterfuge Blush

SemperUbiSubUbi · 15/09/2011 12:43
