Ruby and Millie - honestly! I've never found anything to beat it and Boots often give £5 vouchers too!

Use the best base coat and top coat you can find - that way it doesn't matter what nail varnish you use, it will always stay put and last ages.

OP- are you a Manics fan as your nickname is the title of a Manics song? For the price I like 2 True nail polish that you can get from Superdrug. I like Nails inc also.

Planet, I had Shellac done for the first time just over 3 weeks ago for my holiday - it is fab Smile. I paid £16 but felt it was worth every penny.

I have got a great coral colour on end despite the fact that my nails have grown loads during my hols, it still looks fantastic.

Bella - Honestly I get so bloody excited about this Shellac and because I get it for £6!! I think im doubly lucky!! Anyone in the Box, Wiltshire area can pass on the details of the lady I go to....I swear its not really me on here peddling it Ha Ha I could soooooo be a sales rep for Shellac I would pin people down in shopping centres and say - try it - you will NEVER look back!!

I found no polish stayed on my nails without chipping. Then 10 days ago I had Shellac applied & gotta say I'm a convert! It cost £15 for a introductory offer at my local spa. It seems normal price for the service is around £20-£30. I used to have acrylic nails but I'm going to stick to Shellac as it's better for my nails. Highly recommend! :)

mollymole · 02/09/2011 19:51

OPI - especially after their base coat and always use top coat - it lasts as long as a professional manicure - 7 days at least

nailtech · 02/09/2011 20:04

Shellac is an excellent product but 'ferrari red' is not a shellac colour.

Sam100 · 02/09/2011 20:09

I had my toes done with Jessica nail polish as part of a pedicure and I think top coat etc and was still in mint conditon after 5 weeks! My nails looked like claws by then of course but no chips in the paintwork!

FreeButtonBee · 02/09/2011 20:19

Another opi and seche vite top coat. I find nails inc too gloopy.

auldspinster · 02/09/2011 20:20

Mavala is good, great colours and under a fiver.

EldonAve · 02/09/2011 20:25

I like OPI & Essie
Bourjois isn't bad
