Please help me. Since I turned 37ish my normal deodorants just Arnt doing a good enough job As soon as it goes over 20 degrees I'm sweating and getting BO. I'm so embarrassed changing my clothes twice a day sometimes and washing in-between I use sure extra protection stick. The £5 a stick one. It's ok but on hot days it's not good enough. Can any one recommend a deoderant for people with this issue. Failing that I'm off to the doctors. :(

Please at least try one of the crystal ones, there are a few recommendations here. Like lancashirewife I was skeptical but am amazed how well they work.

I recommend Driclor because it works for me plink. Not because I'm being paid. Though that would be good too, especially as the stuff is farkin expensive.

fayeso · 03/08/2011 20:12

I too use driclor and have done since I was a teenager-have hyperhidrosis lucky me!!!!!
I have been reading about odaban which is the same as driclor but in spray form. Has anyone who finds driclor itchy and burney(like me but given the choice between sweat marks on your clothes whatever the weather all the time has to put up with it)tried odaban and found it any better??
I use the natural salt stick daily and find as long as you wash daily it stops the smell.....not the best deo but is ok.
Can anyone help???

Mitchum roll on is very sticky, I dont like it myself. I have tried all the extra strong ones, driclor stings like hell, I dont know how people do it. So many times I have put it on determined to use it, then had to get out of bed ten mins later because I cant stand it and have to wash it off! Do you just get used to it??

The best one I have found is linden voss triple dry stick, apply at night.

valiumredhead · 05/08/2011 08:03

The strong extra protection deos have always been to harsh for me until I stared using Dove 48 protection - I can even use it after shaving. Mitchum made me burn and itch but Dove is very gentle.

what IS it about sweating though! I seem to have a sheen of sweat on my face every morning now am dripping, very odd, started when I was about 36, what is it about?!

I find that Vichy cream deo work the best (have lived in tropical countries and it was my saviour).

I buy it when in Europe, not sure it is available in UK???

Boots Expert is the very very best imo. I've tried the lot and this is the one. Stocked up with the sticks and now down to the last one - discontinued Angry. I would love to find out if Boots has any more lurking any where in stock - anyone work at Boots?

rarebreed · 05/08/2011 17:20

I bought some Driclor from Boots on Tuesday after reading this thread. I live in black tops/vests because otherwise i get sweat patches within an hour even with loads of anti perspirant. It isn't as bad as hyperhidrosis (sp?) but annoying and embarrassing.

It stung like fuck hell the first two nights i used it, had just been in the shower tho and i probably wasn't totally dry, try dabbing with the towel and then leaving your pits to air-dry for at least half an hour before using it. I then wash off in the morning and shave under my arms. Then use normal cheapy anti perspirant.

Even in the heat the past couple of days i have had dry pits Grin

I am so happy, am going shopping for a bridesmaid dress soon and was really worried about how to explain to the bride that i needed to wear dark colours Blush

VitaEstBonus · 05/08/2011 17:26

I too bought Driclor this week after reading this.

OMG - the sting! the burn! I nearly went crazy.

However - I have now applied it twice and it's very, very effective.

Carabos I loved that one too! Hate hate hate boots as they also discontinued my night cream!

TattyDevine · 05/08/2011 20:13

Washing off Driclor is for losers...

Confused

oh god how can you stand Driclor? I wish I could do it but tried once, it stung like hell and I washed it off straight away. My pits were on fire.

Now I use the Sure or the Dove 48 hour one. It costs about a fiver. The only problem is it leaves loads of white marks on clothes.

peasandlove · 05/08/2011 21:43

it sure does hurt, but if you've had to choose and buy clothes based on their being dark and sleeveless for fear of leaving large puddles under your arms, it's worth a few hours of scratchy burning hell

janmoomoo · 07/08/2011 16:30

Driclor manufacturers - pleeeease can you reformulate your product so it is still effective but not a form of physical armpit torture.

fayeso · 08/08/2011 10:19

I so agree with peasandlove-if you really have hyperhidrosis ie you sweat a stupid amount whatever the weather(i have puddles under my arms when its snowing!!)it is worth a few hours pain for days of dry armpits. If i did not use driclor I would only ever be wearing black tops-I had that as a teenager and do not want to go back there....so driclor it is for me!!
