Seriously, could someone please lend her some straighteners? She's got some free time Mon, is there anyone who could pop round and give her a trim? It looks awful!

OP posts:
BulletWithAName · 17/07/2011 09:20

Oh and I LOL'd at 'statement' hair. It's her hair's natural state. Not something she has deliberately done to make a statement.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 17/07/2011 09:21

It's real I would say. I have very similar hair but not such a fab colour. Her's could do with being slightly shorter I think but often it's the length and hence the weight that tames it a bit. Otherwise you end up with the 'crystal tips' look. Not good.

I doubt it would straighten successfully and I'm pretty sure she doesn't have the time. Frizz Ease is crap for your hair BTW.

Canella · 17/07/2011 09:36

On another "bash red curly hair" thread someone said they knew her a while ago and its not her natural colour. She's really just a mousey brown. But think the curls look real enough.

kyacat · 17/07/2011 09:38

She's a horror but her hair's awesome :) She just needs some moisture and a wide-tooth comb.

Ilythia · 17/07/2011 10:29

My DD2 has hair like that. IS this what she has to look forward to? Nasty bullying and judging based on appearance?
Fair enough she is a nasty piece of work (brooks, not my dd) but to go on about her hair? Bitchy.

Come round and say that to my 3 yr old if you feel that strongly.

smartyparts · 17/07/2011 10:32

My hair is quite similar, although it's brown. I think it's my best feature!!

Hers does look a bit unkempt though and in need of a good cut and some good product.

WhollyGhost · 17/07/2011 10:45

Straight hair is so dated [hgrin]

Yes RB's hair would look more professional tied back at work, but I always thought that wearing it down was something of a statement - that she does not need to conform. Maybe that is why it annoys you?

ameliagrey · 17/07/2011 14:13

When I said it was "statement" hair, I still think you can make a statement by having hair etc that is natural!

I just see it as looking slightly rebellious and "up yours" as it is quite unconventional.

It could be shorter, thinned a bit but still essentially the same style- just neater.

Ij ust think she keeps it that way for a reson- that has nothing to do with looking good. anyway, she's been arrested now so they'll shave it all of in clink!

dontlaugh · 17/07/2011 15:14

Is there somewhere to plug in a straighteners in police custody?

dontlaugh · 17/07/2011 15:15

any statement she is planning won't involve her hair, methinks.

WhoseGotMyEyebrows · 17/07/2011 16:13

doodledaisy Wow that's nasty! Not that I am a fan of hers personally, but her hair?! Why so bitchy? It's natural and curly! (like mine in fact).

Straight hair is boring and everyone has it, so there!

MrsSnow · 17/07/2011 16:16

Why does she need straighteners? The curls look great.

Besides I don't think she will have the time to straighten now!

Grandhighpoohba · 17/07/2011 17:54

Oh get stuffed. I have hair just like hers. (or did before pregnancy trashed it)

a) When I tried straighteners, it took 3 hours to get my hair straight. Who could be arsed to do that every day.
b) All of my life, people have complimented me on my hair. When I straightened it, nothing, nada. Was completely unremarkable. Really makes all that effort worthwhille. Hmm
c) Unless you lived somewhere with zero humidity, it immediately frizzes back up
d) Not everyone wants to look like a clone with the exact same hair
e)This is a major news story, with ramifications for privacy law and how our press will work in the future. People may go to jail. And all you can think of to comment on is her hair cut? That's pretty shallow. Got anything to say about Rupert Murdoch's appearance? Thought not. I wonder why...

WhoseGotMyEyebrows · 17/07/2011 18:15

Me too Grand. I'm always getting compliments on my non straight "interesting" hair!

What's your hair like doodledaisy?

wildfig · 17/07/2011 18:25

Straighteners?! Babyliss Big Hair, surely?

I like her hair. Didn't realise it was dyed though - funny how the two most famous redheads du jour (her and Christina Hendricks) have chosen to be ginger.

maur44 · 18/07/2011 05:02

love her hair. Funny most replies to the post are really positive about curly hair but curly haired respondents seem to get all in a huff anyway as if they are persecuted or something. Actually the true curse hair-wise is fine thin straight non-descript ho-hum hair. If you have hair like rb you're prob getting more compliments than anything. So don't get in a huff - find a REAL cause.

tothemoonandback · 18/07/2011 07:28

She is not nice but her hair is beautiful. Why on earth should she straighten it?

noddyholder · 18/07/2011 07:31

It doesn't look dyed. My hair is similar colour but wavy not curly

Helenfellows32 · 18/07/2011 07:43

I hate it its hideous,

Not professional etc, even tying it back would be better. I have naturally curly hair and its a mare. I would be embarassed if my hair was three times bigger than my head like hers it.

She should invest in massive velcro rollers to change it into soft waves rather than a huge curly mess.

The red is the only saving grace.

noddyholder · 18/07/2011 07:48

Not professional? Why do we have these silly ideas in teh Uk about what is and isn't professional? Esp hair! If you go to Europe you will see women everywhere with that sort of hair running businesses and looking fab!

Helenfellows32 · 18/07/2011 08:01

I would feel uncomfortable if as a boss she was explaining something to be leaning over my desk leaving me with a face full of hair.

So no not professional, in the job she had.

Chandon · 18/07/2011 08:09

anyone who has an opinion on this needs a life.

Dare: Post this thread in feminist section.

Grandhighpoohba · 18/07/2011 09:57

Chandon Grin

That was my point. Where are all the threads discussing Rupert Murdoch's appearance?

CointreauVersial · 18/07/2011 13:10

Oh get over yourselves. Style & Beauty is shallow and frivolous by its very nature. No-one comes to this section for insightful comments about privacy laws.

WhoseGotMyEyebrows · 18/07/2011 13:13

Not professional to have big curly hair?! What are you on about? Yes it would be unprofessional if she were a surgeon and did operations with her hair like that, or was a chef, but in most other professions it's just personal choice.

In the area I work people can dress how they like and wear their hair how they like. It's great! So much individuality! Hate all that mainstream/office/banking etc attituted of suits/hair straight/neat, boring boring boring. How unimaginative! It strips everything away that makes us different people and different is to be celebrated IMO!
