Time for a new thread.....

OP posts:
Emo76 · 13/07/2011 10:08

yes both agnes too small and right size no longer available
still waiting for the "London Premier" service to call me back grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
am hoping they will at least agree a credit note

Emo76 · 13/07/2011 10:08

I mean both Agnes too BIG - yeah!

ApuskiDusky · 13/07/2011 10:43

wow, annie, hats off to you for keeping going when you were feeling so ill - outfit for today sounds fab (love sportmax, just wish they did more navy stuff!).

Here's an idle question for you all - if you could get free clothes from one designer, but it was all you could wear, what would you choose? (Can you tell I was bored on the train). I can't decide between Joseph or Maxmara (assuming I'm also allowed Maxmara weekend, Max studio and sportmax, of course!).

Red, re areas - first choice at the mo is Frenchay, but nothing seems to come up for rent there so that'll only work if we sell quickly and so have time to buy again (and can get some sort of mortgage with DH contracting). Otherwise north-west, same areas where you were looking, as good family houses for rent do come up fairly often round there. Like the look of Almondsbury as well, but access into the city isn't as good from there.

Emo76 · 13/07/2011 11:50

update-refund sorted because I have never done that before..!

apuski I would go for Joseph!

ApuskiDusky · 13/07/2011 13:21

Well I've just had the nicest brush-off ever in the feedback from my interview yesterday, so overall it's probably the best outcome, as this way I reassure the recruitment consultant that I'm credible but don't feel pressure to take a job that is coming up a bit too soon for me and would involve a shed-load of travel despite being 4 days a week.

Emo, glad you got your refund, thought they would.

pickledsiblings · 13/07/2011 14:02

Apuski, lol at 'nicest brush-off ever' .

Emo, what size Agnes are you looking for?

Annie, hope today goes OK for you and here's to a good night sleep and many more to come.

NY, sounds like you are managing fine without the Nanny, you must have an excellent back-up system. Being organised really does have its benefits, doesn't it Smile.

Bloss, where are you off to on holiday again? Finally got around to booking ours yesterday - we're off to Italy in exactly 1 month. Shredding here I come!

Marsha, stop flirting with the painter guy Grin.

blossoming · 13/07/2011 14:44

Proud day. DS won the sprint, and I came 3rd. Behind a sports teacher and one of the hoodys. I have a certificate and a ribbon.

pickledsiblings · 13/07/2011 15:27

Go Bloss!!!

blossoming · 13/07/2011 15:32

Thanks pickled. Dh asked 'which hoody?' I said 'the druggy'. 'Ah' he said, 'the one with no teeth..'!

We're going to Provence for a week followed by Cote d'Azur.

notyummy · 13/07/2011 15:56

Well done Bloss!

Pickled - thanks for the kind words, although in reality it seems like life on the edge this week! Have booked DD into the 'Early Birds' club at school, but this is still 1 hr and half later than I usually leave for work. As a result I am having to do relatively brief days, as I have to leave at 4pm for the commute home to pick up from after school club. I am doing lots of work at home in the evening. A lovely friend has agreed to come over and stay the night to take DD to school so I can leave at 0500 tomorrow morning for a 5 hour jouney to where DH is so I can see him graduate and pick up his prize - we will then drive home together in the afternoon and pick DD up - and then I have him home. Hurray!! He has already been warning me about the 'long hours' he will have to do in his new job. I have hoisted the warning flag that reads 'tough, we both work, and you have to AT VERY LEAST do the occasional pick up.' (He is great at doing stuff around the house - probably better than me tbh - but not so much on very occasionally being forced to leave work early/start late. Must be 0700 in office and still there at 1800 or the world will fall apart....) It is difficult as he genuinely can't work from home because of the nature of his job - you can't get laptops secure to allow it to happen.

Hmm. I went on a bit there - sorry!

blossoming · 13/07/2011 16:25

You must be so proud of him notyummy. What are you wearing tomorrow? How lovely of your friend to do that for you.

carciofi · 13/07/2011 16:39

Well done, sporty Bloss!
Annie, hope you are feeling better.
Apuski, that must be a relief and the recruitment consultant will go all out to find you a new job when you are good and ready.
NY, hope you have a lovely day tomorrow.
My new bag arrived, it is much nicer in black than in Pepto Bismol pink.
I look extremely overdressed here as wearing very high Stuart Weitzman heels in order to stretch them. The babysitter was giving me funny looks.
I am a scarf down, I decided to send my new Crumpet scarf to my MIL as a thank you. I should have bought her one when I bought my aunt's.
Hope your family are behaving themselves, Red!
Still tired, too tired to go to Westfield, now that is tired. :)
Where in Italy are you going, Pickled?

blossoming · 13/07/2011 18:40

carciofi, you just reminded me of when I used to do housework in Jimmy Choos! Before dcs and marriage obviously.
Sorry you're so tired. Hopefully it will pass soon.

Finally we got the headstone sorted for dc2's grave. Just been to see it. Lovely summer's evening here. It looks good. Black granite with silver writing. Quite emotional though.

carciofi · 13/07/2011 18:53

Oh Blossoming, it must have been very emotional. Tin of salmon to you.

ApuskiDusky · 13/07/2011 19:14

Bloss, I can't even begin to imagine how that was for you, but glad you like how it looks. Tin of salmon from me too.

blossoming · 13/07/2011 19:22

Thanks girls. It's been that sort of day. We only found out this afternoon that the stone had been lain, so DH back from consultant (he said, wait and see, come back in 6 months), then rushed in the car to the graveyard in case someone saw it before us. With the potty.
All surreal. My fear is that I wasn't able to grieve properly when it happened because of dc3's birth. And even now, she comes with us and is shouting about the sheep in the field. I just need some peace and quiet. Not easy with a toddler.
She's in bed now, so will have a quiet evening to myself I think. DH will probably be working, making up for this afternoon.

FritziGreenEyes · 13/07/2011 19:57

Oh bloss what a day you had... Hope that you can have a peaceful evening tonight.

annie Hope you and the DDs feel better today and your presentation went well.

carciofi Lovely of you to give MIL a scarf to say thank you. Hope you get your energy back soon for future Westfield trips. Is there a reason for breaking in your high heels? Night out or glam invitation? Or maybe just to make the nanny smile Smile.

notyummy You are a human dynamo Smile. Have fun at the graduation and tell us about your outfit! The cross body bag you linked to is lovely... and such a bargain!

red Love my Vince jumper too. Sooo soft and cozy, just what you need on a typical summer's day Hmm. Will wear mine tomorrow.

apuski I would choose MaxMara!

emo Is there anything better than trying on trousers that are too big? Grin Glad you got the refund.

pickled Get out your trainers and join me! Have re-started shredding today and the strength exercises have almost killed me. And that was only level 1...

FritziGreenEyes · 13/07/2011 20:01

Quick question about Jalouse boots:

  1. Are they anywhere available in a size 6 in stone??? Everywhere I have looked online they are sold out, grrr.
  2. Do I need to size down?
IceCreamCastles · 13/07/2011 20:23

Hi all, have name changed due to careless unfortunate breach of privacy the other day.
I used to have a spanish sort of name and was pickled's partner in crime at the MOAMU. Hope that's enough!

Bloss - A very hard day indeed Sad. I hope you can find some time for yourself to remember some wonderful things about your DD.

Carciofi - you must be shattered not to want to go to westfield. Hope you get a decent chunk of sleep soon. And that you can replace your scarf! What a lovely gesture to give one to your MIL.

Can completely relate to the work / SAHM issues. I am not enjoying my job at the moment. All the passion and enthusiasm I used to have when I worked in a different department seems to have fizzled. Not sure if it's the nature of the job (older students) or the staff (not very good work ethic). At the same time I know I have to do something as I would go mad staying at home full time.

WAN Hope you're feeling well. I am trying to keep it a secret from work until after the summer holidays by which time I'll be about 15 weeks. Only a few more days to keep up the pretense that my expanding waist line (and bum) is due to increased cake consumption.

MarshaBrady · 13/07/2011 20:41

Hey Icecream poor you with the unfortunate post.

Annie how was the presentation, did it go well? Outfit sounded excellent of course.

Pickled I took a sharp intake of breath on your post Grin. I have been too kind to him on here, we have tried to sack him twice. Blinking nightmare issues! No flirting.

There was one at the party on the weekend, and the bugger left and came back as I was leaving. He was intensely good at it, with the eye contact and fantastic phrases etc. I do feel having a die-hard good looking flirt at a party is a necessity.

Deep sympathies with all those not enjoying work atm. I went in today and it pissed me off. Just annoyed me. Irritated me. Plus the office was so hot. WHAT is it with hot offices, I can't think or breathe when it's blaring heat with no fresh air in the middle of summer. Messes with my complexion (aholes).

MarshaBrady · 13/07/2011 20:42

Bloss big hugs from me too.

Morning all! Bloss- your post about needing some time and space to remember your daughter was really poignant and although I have never had a loss to your magnitude I can imagine that when you are feeling emotional, dealing with a toddler must be a particular challenge. I am glad she has what sounds like a lovely headstone.

On the train to DHs grad wearing my P 8 va va voom dress, and have splashed a whole extra £12 to travel first class all the way there, so am enjoying all the extras!!

blossoming · 14/07/2011 08:22

Thanks annie, marsha, and notyummy, enjoy today.

It is a really beautiful day here today with clear blue skies and mist rising off the lake. I am wearing the Boden white denim skirt and the poetry charcoal vest. I don't think I'm going to need a cardigan either!

I had a lovely evening watching Ashton Kutcher Blush in No Strings Attached, with Natalie Portman. It was just what I needed with a glass of Stella! I'll admit to having a soft spot for AK movies. I really enojyed What Happens in Vegas aswell with Cameron Diaz. (Offsets my serious French subjunctive side anyway!)

pickledsiblings · 14/07/2011 08:57

Morning All

Bloss, I bet it's days like today that make you glad to be living where you are. Both outfit and environs (do you like that bit of French I threw in) sound lovely Smile. When you're next in France you'll be able to pick up some bits and pieces to use in your teaching, how exciting!

Marsha, don't tell me you're having trouble with your painter guy. I've just managed to convince DH that we should get a painter instead of always doing it ourselves. We're off to a gorgeous villa (actually it's a tobacco barn) in Tuscany/Umbria that is so nicely decorated that I just know I'll be depressed coming home to this. I've We've decided to be proactive and tart this place up a bit before we go.

ICC, are you a bit of a Joni Mitchell fan then? Sorry to hear that work isn't inspiring you. Never mind, it'll make it all the easier to go off on Mat leave.

Carciofi, I'm glad you like the AH tote in black, I always secretly preferred that one, less wallpaper like Grin. Are you off to Ireland in the Summer?
