Does anyone still wear a watch!?

Teachermumof3 · 28/06/2011 13:00

and if so-what's it like? I haven't worn a watch for years now, but am finding myself increasingly frustrated at work when my clock stops working (!) and my phone is in the cupboard and I have no idea what the time is!

Always wear a watch. Would feel naked without watch.

Pagwatch · 28/06/2011 14:29

I don't understand Twitter.
Don't you have to be pithy and adored?

Pagwatch · 28/06/2011 14:30

And arf that thugh rubbing. Rough old thugs like being rubbed

mamalovebird · 28/06/2011 14:35

I wear a watch, have two 'day' watches, one M&S square metal one and a red rubber swatch one, depending on waht I'm wearing.
Have fancy DKNY bejewelled one for nights out/special occasions.

I can go all day without feeling the need to check my mobile for messages/missed calls etc etc so don't rely on it for time telling. I do feel lost without a watch.

Wear it on my right wrist though as I'm left handed.

CMOTdibbler · 28/06/2011 14:38

Not currently as I can't wear one on bad arm and can't do it up on good arm (and stretchy strap watch pinched), but did all the time before injury, and will again when I sort out my conundrum

VeraGood · 28/06/2011 14:47

go on now and ill pimp you
go on and then @ me

VeraGood · 28/06/2011 14:47

i did this to mamag and she never came back

CroissantNeuf · 28/06/2011 14:53

I'm lost without a watch.

I wear either a CK one with a black leather strap or a Swatch slimline black one with a subtle design on.

I'm not keen on metal ones (whether expensive or cheap) and find a lot of watches are too 'bling' for me.

I'm also prone to scratching the faces on them -not sure how a manage it quite so often TBH Hmm so a really expensive one would be wasted on me.

CroissantNeuf · 28/06/2011 14:53

CMOT -have you considered a nurses watch or a necklace watch?

nickelbabe · 28/06/2011 14:54

I feel naked without my eatch on!

it's a winnie-the-pooh face, but with a black strap, because the proper strap broke years ago.

GooseyLoosey · 28/06/2011 14:57

Why would you not wear one? I can't imagine life without it.

GrimmaTheNome · 28/06/2011 15:00

I always wear a watch. Steel/gold properly waterproof Rotary. Looks good but is totally practical.

I have a cheap Sekonda one a bit like this, its lasted about 15 years so far. No point in me having anything fancy - I'd only lose it!

I've been looking for a nice necklace one Croissant, but they've all been a bit not me

FrumpyPumpy · 28/06/2011 15:11

I got mine for my 18th, is scratched and a bit battered and costs me a fortune in servicing but still love it. Rarely take it off.

Do lust after a Cartier tank. Maybe one day!

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 28/06/2011 15:11

Also have a Cartier Santos that DH bought me, will never wear anything else.

Felt very odd when it sent off to be serviced a couple of months ago, I wore an old Rotary one which felt incredibly light, and not solid enough Hmm.

ZeroMinusZero · 28/06/2011 15:11

Love wearing a watch, looking at my phone just doesn't cut it I'm afraid. I want to know what the time is ALL the time. Plus, they look nice.

MissPenteuth · 28/06/2011 15:18

I wear one when I'm out but not in the house. At home I'm never far from a clock. I have a metal Storm one that DH bought me about 7 years ago.

Fimbo · 28/06/2011 15:51

I wear mine all the time. Even have the tan line to prove it Grin

It's an Emporio Armani one.

Fimbo · 28/06/2011 15:56

\link{http://store.emporioarmaniwatches.com/en_US/shop/men_watches_jewelry/classic/classic_watch-AR0154P.html?imagePath=AR0154\mine}. Didn't realise it was actually a man's. Oh well Grin
