ok, i read about these a while ago on here and whilst in america recently i decided to invest in some. my teeth are pretty straight and nice but not as white as i would like. i have always wanted them whiter. so i bought the super strength top of the range ones that are meant to work in 2 hours (think they are called 3d or something) i got a years supply for about $50 (about 35 quid) from walmart, there are four sets of 2 strips (one for top teeth and one for bottom teeth) you are meant to use them once every 3 months.

anyway i used the first ones yesterday and i have to say i am amazed by the results, i thought at best they would lift my teeth by maybe a shade, but they are SEVERAL shades noticeably whiter. i keep looking in mirrors and smiling at myself like a loon Blush

i don't think you can buy them over here other than on ebay. but i just wanted to tell you all they are WELL worth it, if i run out before i get to go to the states again i will happily get ripped off on ebay for some more!!

I asked my dentist.

he was brutally honest.

He says people are mad to care more about what their teeth look like, rather than how healthy they are.
He says these products contain bleach which weaken the enamel, why would you do that?
People's teeth natural colour varies from ivory to yellow-ish. Never white.
He showed how there is only one shade lighter than mine, naturally
He said he doesn't know why people want teeth the colour of a toilet or sink Grin
The effects don't last, esp. if you drink coffee, tea, wine, so you have to come back over and over again.

He was a private dentist, who talks people out of bleaching as he is morally opposed to it, should I ask him to marry me Grin

He is right, but at the same time, there is a risk/reward to be applied here, and I don't think people are 'mad' as such for wanting whiter teeth - as long as they are realistic about the results and don't want Burt Reynolds White.

Of course people want to improve the appearance of their teeth. As they do clothing, makeup etc.

Mine was a present to myself after years of smoking and then giving up.

That's why the trays are good, I think. You're dealing with small increments of regular whitening. If sensitivity kicks in, you can stop, You can vary the strength of the bleach and you can control how many times you use it.

They work brilliantly (I've used the same).

BUT - a), fuck, they hurt, and b), the taste of the saliva they produced made me want to vomit.

Therefore, never again!

This is a zombie thread.

I agree with KoalaDownUnder they hurt like fuck. I don't have sensitive teeth at all but holy crap it was bad. We live in the US and recently I made the mistake of buying the Crest super strength whitening, no need for whitening strips toothpaste - aaaaaaarghhh!!!! I think it would have been less painful to use actual bleach!
