First time Ive shopped with them. The Tate dress is lovely but a little snug around the bust and I sized up to a 16! I think I will have to wear it without a bra but I dont know how appropriate this might be Smile, Lovely colours though and shape.

I just have to decide.....

I am really Confused - the size chart suggests their sizes are generous. I measured myself and my measurements perfectly fit their size 12 according to the size chart, so is it just totally false then??
Confused

My Elenor came but am sending it back, as the grey is a really dullone (I was thinking more of a light, silvery grey - this is sludge).
It also accentuates my pot belly Sad

Size wise, it's a 14, I'm usually a 12 to 14 and it was snug but not tight.

It's beautifully constructed,though.

FluffyMummy123 · 08/05/2011 08:42

youve all made me buy the esme in black adn elenor in red now as they aer so bargainous

would have to get red one taken up
sized UP to 14- is that right?

FluffyMummy123 · 08/05/2011 08:43

HOw long is Esme?

noddyholder · 08/05/2011 08:49

Love love the coat might get it. Friend has the elenor dress truly hideous and dated but fab quality

noddyholder · 08/05/2011 08:52

Does anyone have the Isabella dress? Ate the sleeves full length?

FluffyMummy123 · 08/05/2011 08:53

is it horrible the elenor?
i ordered as is cheap - think neckline way too high and not sure about colour.
#sucker

FluffyMummy123 · 08/05/2011 08:53

i COULD be in a robert palmer video in it thgouh ( well kinda)

noddyholder · 08/05/2011 08:57

It is awful I thought. To be fair this girl has great clothes and it was for work but I thought it drab and frumpy. Prices are good though in the sale. I don,t like the other one either though so maybe just not me. Jersey wrap dress would make me look huge.

NoahFence · 08/05/2011 08:59

i have to find a dress ( cheap) to wear to kids prom.
or might wheel out that bargainous phase 8 one i LOVE drapey grecian

MissBeehivingBlardySwarms · 08/05/2011 09:11

I really like the Elenor. You need to get the knot in the right place.

noddyholder · 08/05/2011 09:13

I love the phase 8 one. Phase 8 verity dress is very Vivienne westwood and looks flattering and party ish.

sailorsgal · 08/05/2011 13:22

That phase eight verity dress is stunning. I am acutally glad it is out of stock though.

moragbellingham · 08/05/2011 14:23

Tried on the red Elenor (with bra, this time),spanx type slip and re-arranged until the knot sat in the right place.
Was persuaded to keep it by DH which is highly unusual, so thought it must look OK.

DD (age 2) said she like my new dressing gown thoughConfused

cabbageroses · 08/05/2011 16:41

can i ask if I have missed something with this thread?
Looked at D in a D in John Lewis but saw nothing I liked- all very dressy and not something i'd normally wear...

enlighten?

LaurieFairyCake · 08/05/2011 17:07

The Esme is on the knee !

kitkatya · 09/05/2011 20:17

did the sale finish then?

OP posts:
JaxTellersOldLady · 09/05/2011 20:19

yes, think so. It only had 4 hours to go when I ordered at the weekend.

kitkatya · 10/05/2011 10:49

Im going to give myself a couple of days and then decided. I just dont think I should be going out braless Smile

OP posts:
RunforFun · 10/05/2011 11:23

I ordered the Stella in a 10 and a 12.

I think the 10 fits better, more snug but still ok.

Not sure ... not as sexy slinky as Karen Millen.

What I'm really not keen on is the excess foldy wrapy fabric on the back of the skirt, makes me look really bottom heavy...

£50 isnt bad though and @I've a few occasions coming up I could wear it at.

Oh I dont know I think I'll wait for a second opinion from the kids later

JaxTellersOldLady · 10/05/2011 20:33

right, firecracker is going back, it really isnt me.

The Jessica (red) is lovely on, flatters me hugely and I love it... but is it too dressy for the wedding that we are going to? I dont know, but I do know I feel lovely in it. It is more 'evening wear' oh hells bells.

kitkatya · 11/05/2011 10:24

I liked the look of the firecracker so thats a shame. I wonder where all the reduced stuff goes to now the sale has finished?

OP posts:
Sariska · 11/05/2011 11:28

I got the firecracker too - and am also sending it back as it doesn't suit my shape. Sad because I loved the material and pattern. The Samantha spot dress is great on me, though.

Am also wondering what is happening to the rest of the reduced stock because I am seriously regretting not getting the Jessica in red. (I love red dresses....) Although I think 10s had sold out so would have to see if an 8 would work. It might as although I think of myself as a fairly definite size 10, I thought these dresses came up a little big. That isn't what everyone else thought, though, is it? Maybe I am measuring myself wrongly Confused

AlpinePony · 11/05/2011 12:51

Just got my 3 (!) parcels 30 minutes ago.

Sizing - I thought it was pretty honest tbh - although my problem area is thighs so perhaps trousers may have been very different!

Tatiana - This sized up the smallest of all my purchases and I would not have been happy with the quality at the original price of 200+. However, it meets my wardrobe needs of a fun, mid-length white coat and is much nicer than anything I saw at a comparable price last winter.

Audrey - absolutely bloody gorgeous! Sized up big so plenty of room for winter clothes underneath.

Elenor (red) - Just what I expected. "Beyonce" for grown-ups, I've got a girls night out next weekend and this is ideal. Inappropriate for the office unless you're whippet thin with no T&A.

Autumn Leaf - now I really like this, it makes me feel like a middle-aged divorcee on the prowl for a toyboy! Grin Makes my bum quite J Lo-esque - but I don't mind that.

Both will require me to buy some shapewear - although, both dresses were lined (I was not expecting this at these prices! Very impressed) - and I tried both on without underwear so all good!

I would definitely use DID again. :)
