If someone describes a skirt to you as tulip shape would you expect it to have a couple of pleats in it

I would assume it would.

Im so annoyed, I sold a gorgeous Boden skirt which I described as tulip shape and Ive been given negative feedback as they women said she cant wear pleats. I honestly wouldve though that tulip was enough to describe it! Dont people zoom in on items??

So you've refunded & let her keep the skirt ?

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 20:01

not at all I only went into ebay today and got her message. I said I would refund no probs if she thought Id described it wrongly. Then I realised shed left negative feedback. I take responsibility for not logging in earlier.

I would have thought a tulip skirt would have some sort of pleats or gathers on the front, that's what gives it the tulip shape. Just out of interest I looked at Google Images for tulip skirt and yes they all have pleats or folds/ gathers on the front. A tulip skirt with no pleats is surely a pencil skirt??

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 20:19

try telling that to her!!! Smile

maybe you should buy it back yourself, then neg her, you don't even have to pay to be able to leave fb do you. buyer has all the control.

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 20:38

I always think thats unfair that the seller cant leave feedback. I probably dont understand it properly. I will see if she replies to my email tonight.

But if you win it and leave feedback without paying they can pull the feedback for non payment. BTW I would buy the skirt but its too big, looks lovely.

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 21:32

she won it and left neg feedback. Shes selling it now. Its a small 16!

shes brought my rating down from 100% to 75% Sad

It's my size. Maybe I should buy it and complain about the pleats ...

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 21:40

Whoever buy it is going to get a bargain by the look of the action on it.

well, I got a reply. Apparently I can send a revised feedback request to her and she will change it. She never apologised but at least I hope my rating will go up. Shes taken the listing down (if I was her I wouldve just plugged it as she couldve got her money back, its a nice skirt in great nick). I do think its alot of palava. When do I give her the money back? When I receive it or when she says shes sent it?

OP posts:
sowhatshallido · 06/05/2011 11:22

when you receive it

messylittlemonkey · 06/05/2011 11:23

Yes, tulip = pleats around the waist bit, surely

kitkatya · 06/05/2011 11:40

Its such a carry on. I specifically say that I dont do returns, Im going on sodding holiday next week and it will all start up again.

I'm a bit confused..you sold her the skirt, she's given you neg feedback & now is asking for a refund & has relisted the skirt ?

I'm consider myself a bit of an expert (!) Grin, so may I suggest you ask her to return the skirt (at her cost) when you receive it, she retracks or does whatever with the feedback & then you refund her?

People always say they don't do returns, but that's ridiculous..returns can always be done & there is always a solution which doesn't have to result in neg feedback. (but appreciate people are weird too).

Sorted & you can enjoy your hols without this hanging over your head - you can also cancel the transaction so you don't have to pay ebay fees.

kitkatya · 06/05/2011 15:38

Thanks!

She's posting it on Monday so I should get it midweek. Is it easy to give people money back through paypal? I assume it is.

I have loads more stuff to put on there today, I hope its more straight forward this time! Smile

lovingthesun · 07/05/2011 16:48

Good, make sure you check it over first. If you go to paypal & list transactions, you'll see her details, click for details & you'll see an option to refund.
Do complete the cancel transaction form otherwise you'll have to pay ebay fees.

Ref giving feedback to buyers - their part of the deal is to pay, so if they pay, then should get positive feedback. Reading this scenario is making me think, better to ensure item received & purchaser happy.

Good luck with listing..I'll be listing too as no fee's this weekend Smile
