If someone describes a skirt to you as tulip shape would you expect it to have a couple of pleats in it

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 17:34

I would assume it would.

Im so annoyed, I sold a gorgeous Boden skirt which I described as tulip shape and Ive been given negative feedback as they women said she cant wear pleats. I honestly wouldve though that tulip was enough to describe it! Dont people zoom in on items??

didn't she even ask for a refund? how rude!

i would definitely assume a tulip skirt would have pleats, i'd ask her to remove the neg it's unfair

HazeltheMcWitch · 05/05/2011 17:35

Tulip shape for me suggests a skirt that goes in and out again at the bottom. Honestly, I would not 'get' pleats from tulip-shaped!

Er, but I WOULD look at the pic!

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 17:38

you wouldnt? I thought it was the slight pleating that gave it its shape? I dont mean massive pleats that would make you look huge.

Its my fault, Ive been working and never thought to go on to ebay after I got three lots of great feedback. She sent me a message on the 1st which I saw saying that although she knows I dont return anything can she have a money back as the item isnt as described. I replied yes of course, sorry Ive been on nights.

Now Ive noticed the feedback. Im ashamed Sad

so you got the neg today?

and you didn't send her your address to send the returned skirt back to?

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 17:42

I dont think so, why? Is it not already on my ebay account? I only ebay twice a year when Im broke I have a Boden clear out. Mind you, if their recent stuff is anything to go by, I wont have anymore to sell!

If you quickly and politely solve a problem, it can leave people even happier than if there were no problem in the first please.

as you're letting her return it, can you ask her if she'd be so kind as to re-appraise comment. Can you edit past comments on ebay ?

southeastastra · 05/05/2011 17:48

i don't think so, maybe you could just email her and explain that you didn't realise she wouldn't have the address to return to, then say you will refund when you receive it back. though i wonder why she didn't just email and ask herself

southeastastra · 05/05/2011 17:49

xpost - you could ask her then if she wouldn't mind getting the neg removed.

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 17:51

I said on my profile that I dont take returns. She asked me if I would make an exception in her case, I emailed back and said of course I would. I didnt realise that she had left the negative feedback.

Im not sure if the comments can be changed or the negative feedback taken off.

Should I just refund the money through my paypal?

Tulip skirts can be cleverly tailored using darts rather than pleats. even so, I agree you'd look at the photo.

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 17:56

she said in the feedback that I never described it as having darts in it. Surely darts arent as dramatic as pleats? I just assumed that there would have to be some kind of gathers to acheive the shape.

Im no tailor, mind. Smile

southeastastra · 05/05/2011 18:15

i would email back and say that you didn't realise that she wouldn't have your address, but would she retract the neg as it was a genuine mistake. don't refund anything until you get the item back though

VivaLeBeaver · 05/05/2011 18:51

Yes I would and I'd also expect that when buying something off ebay I run the risk that it may look shit on. Wouldn't cross my mind to return it never mind leave neg feedback.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/05/2011 18:52

And if she can't/won't take off the neg feedback I wouldn't refund. Not sure I would anyway to be honest as you've made it clear that you don't do returns. Can you not leave a comment under her neg feedback saying that the buyer is a loon and should have looked at the photo.

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 18:53

If it was me, I would give it to my mother or someone. Its not like it was more that £15. Its overseas as well.

The bloody cow has relisted it cgi.ebay.co.uk/Boden-Ladies-Silk-Skirt-ideal-for-Summer_W0QQitemZ180659440332QQihZ008QQcategoryZ63864QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem she hasnt mentioned pleats either!

OP posts:
southeastastra · 05/05/2011 19:45

omg how rude!!! you must email her and ask her to retract.

southeastastra · 05/05/2011 19:48

am tempted to buy it myself and then neg her for lack of mentioning pleats Wink

Dilligaf81 · 05/05/2011 19:49

Bloody hell that is cheeky. Ive bought things and relisted but never left neg feedback to 1st seller. I'd contact ebay re unfair feedback and inform them she has relisted the item with same description. Id also email her saying you feel that she has been very unfair in her feedback.
You can reply to the feedback she's left you Id say something like AS DESCRIBED - BUYER RELISTED WITH SAME DESCRIPTION.
Then leave her feedback saying unfair buyer wanted refund as didnt fit her then relisted.

I hate ebay sometimes.

kitkatya · 05/05/2011 19:49

Im biting my tongue here. She hasnt mentioned them has she? can you see how tiny they are? Ive politely said that Ive noticed she is selling it and hasnt mentioned any pleats so she must realise that is the tulip style and that I would appreciate if she would take my negative comments down.

I also notice that she is charging twice as much as I did for postage.

I like her floor Sad

Becaroooo · 05/05/2011 19:49
