Anyone else feel the quality of NEXT jeans has gone poor.?

Or is it just me...

Bought these for about the last 18 months.

I boight my 1st pair and replaced them with the same style/model about 4-6 months later due to the fact that the bottoms had become ragged (im short 4ft 11 and even the petite need altering but I don't always get them done due to time and cost etc..). I can live with replacing them because of this.... BUT today I have noticed that in the last 4 months I have had to replace 3 pairs Shock.

AND its not the bottoms that are forcing me to replace them BUT the fact they have gone in my nether region Blush. Well not the bum exactly but more inbetween/back of legs iykwim...

They are the cheaper end of next jeans at £22 a pair and I do wear them everyday (execpt give and take in the summer..) BUT this isn't right is it..?

Im quite tempted to write into next and say..

I love their jeans, fit fab, wash well and are comfy for me BUT this is now annoying me...

Im a size 14 and the jeans are a good fit, not tight with some room iykiwm...

anyone else the same..?

have you tried buying cchildren's shoes from there? Shock appalling

clayre · 11/04/2011 10:58

I bought a pair about 3 years ago and they are still going strong but any I've bought after that have fell to bits I started buying them off eBay as they are the only jeans that fit me bt I grudged the price when they don't last!

Ephiny · 11/04/2011 12:44

I agree, the latest jeans I bought are just not at all the same fabric/quality as the ones I was replacing from a few years ago. The sizing has definitely changed as well, though they claim it hasn't, waist has got much bigger, and legs skinnier (and they're not skinnies!).

SherlockMoans · 11/04/2011 12:48

I bought some really nice Next jeans - and they developed a small hole in the knee area, I can only assume the fabric was faulty - if id known it was a trend I would have taken them back.

Have some of the high waisted ones and they feel as though the cut is a bit odd in the groin area.

Shhhh · 11/04/2011 16:25

May leave it a bit longer and then give them a call..

I bought some Next childrens shoes and they lasted 3 days before they broke. I took them back and got a refund but I dont think she was totally happy about it.

I haven't bought next clothes for myself for ages as they seem too expensive now for the quality. Or lack of.

I've got fat face jeans at the moment which I love but they need replacing. M&S ones are quite good Blush but will go try some topshop ones now.

stylenotfashion · 12/04/2011 16:37

I weep at the thought of going into Topshop. Won't everyone point and stare at my size 14, 35yr old bottom?

I don't want to go to fecking Marksies :(

ShamelessHussey · 12/04/2011 19:55

Hobbs, thats where I got my last pair. Fit like a glove. V comfy, high waisted ones so no muffin top. Wash beautifully. Have some stretch so keep shape. And I'm 5.9, size 16 with a belly. Blush
One of the girls at work went to John Lewis recently. She's got a lovely figure, (I think) but couldnt get a pair that fitted properly or looked nice so was properly fed up. The Jeans lady, (Yes, there is one Smile ), looked her up and down, and fitted her with a v smart looking pair of levis.

redvelvetmooncupcake · 13/04/2011 11:40

Topshop is full of fat teenagers these days and lots of 30 and 40 somethings. Their sizes are plenty generous and you might even fit into a 12 - their 12s now equate to about a 16 from our teenage years. Give it a try, if you don't like them don't go back!

stylenotfashion · 13/04/2011 11:45

Ooh :) I'm blardy gonna! I'm blardy gonna go ito Topshop and wield my arse around willynilly Grin

CatherineWindsor · 13/04/2011 11:59

You could always order on tinternet to avoid the wedged in topshop cubicle situation.

Shhhh · 13/04/2011 13:01

lol at stylenot..Grin

well, I have had a reply from next. They have advised me to return the jeans and they will investigate further... so I shall be doing so Smile Hope to report back..

Topshop online are gits and don't usually have anything in a 30 leg. Plus they do loads of different styles so you really need to try lots on. Just go in there. I command you.

The last time I was there, the assistant was lovely, super helpful, about 17 years old and I would guess, a size 16/18 at the very least.

stylenotfashion · 13/04/2011 15:24

Ooh yeah I do like to be commanded Wink ! Grin

mulberryless · 13/04/2011 15:28

Always worn next jeans. Constantly replacing as bottoms too long and fray/fall apart after month or so. Waists seem to go baggy and when wear phone/keys in pocket it leaves a huge mark. Knees discoloured too. You can buy two pairs the same label size but measure them against each other and they are a different size. Is this just a NEXT problem or do you think all of the high street are feeling the pinch?

Shhhh · 13/04/2011 15:31

by the sounds of things mulberry all highstreet stores are feeling the pinch.. from what reports this week were saying anyway.

I have always bought the same style as you Shhhh and loved them - I buy several pairs at a time but bring them out gradually so I always have a "good" pair and day to day ones.

Mine have always worn eventually between the thighs but usually lasted at least a year (they are pretty much all I wear) but recently they haven't lasted more than a few months before looking very scruffy.
I used to love Monsoon's jeans too (used to be £45 a pair but lasted forever) but they don't seem to do them constantly which is really frustrating.
I bought dd cropped jeans from Next, again the same style I have bought her for years and years. I got her a dark wash pair and a pale wash. The dark wash are a bit big but comfy for a 10 yo running around and playing. The pale wash in the same size were too small. These were exactly the same jeans just in a different colour Hmm

VivaLeBeaver · 13/04/2011 16:11

I bought some Next jeans the other week and they fitted fine. Tried another style but same size on today and was no close to being able to do them up!

Shhhh · 13/04/2011 19:46

thats what I do carrotsandcelery! I buy 2 pairs, wear them both in a little then keep one pair for smartish occasions and the other for the school run, when the school run pair are knackered I then do the process again and use the smarter pair for the school run as well... following..Confused

YET I don't even seem to be getting beyond stage one lol!

Have packed my jeans up ready to return tomorrow as requested but a bit [embarassed] now at sending jeans back that are so scruffy (yet only 5 weeks old) and are an embarassment Blush..

stylenotfashion · 13/04/2011 19:48

Shhhh I think it's fair to say the Next returns people will have seen far worse... Grin

JemimaMop · 13/04/2011 19:50

I don't buy the women's jeans, but the quality of the childrens jeans has really gone downhill. A couple of years ago I used to be able to buy them for DS1 and they would still be fine to pass down to DS2, at least for playing out. The denim is so thin now that they wear through the knees in a few weeks.

stylenotfashion · 13/04/2011 19:51

Yes yes to what jemima said.

Gap is the only place to buy boys jeans to last past 1 kiddy. IMO.

Shhhh · 13/04/2011 21:04

hope so snf Hmm

Overtiredmum · 13/04/2011 21:07

I bought the same jeans, size 14, and yes, think they are rubbish, in fact I think alot of their clothes is utter tat these days, apart from the kids stuff.
