I'm a tad nervous but I have been thinking about cutting my hair nice & short for ages but I can't find the right cut.
I have straggly brown hair just past my norkage & I always wear it in a ponytail.

So here's a dodgy picture of me minus any make up because I have been at the park all day:

soh my hair is to whispy to carry that one & I do a lot of walking so wind damage need to be taken into consideration.

I'm not going short short & do fancy something with a longer fringe that I can clip out of the way every day when doing puzzles on the floor.

Hi Bohica I also alway wear my hair in a ponytail.
Re the elf styles, you're not going to get any shorter than how it looks when it's pulled back how you normally wear it, and if you got it cut that short and hated it, you could always clip it in places to make it look how it does in your original picture.
Last weekend, I went to a hairdressers that was advertising for models for their trainees, she asked me what I wanted done, and like you, I have long brown hair that is always tied back. I told her she could do absolutely anything, he could go as long or as short as she wanted but that I wanted a complete re-style.
She took off about 8 inches, so it is now resting on my shoulders, and is layered and shaped around my face.
I am quite disappointed as I wanted something completely different.
I want to go to it being chin length. The only thing that puts me off is having to straighten it to control the fly-away bits

I have thick thick hair and a very good hairdresser!
I do blow dry daily, but literally 2 mins if I've just wet it through.
My hair has always been like this, I have never never been able to get up in the morning, just brush and go. There is always some styling happening...no matter how short or long it is.

yes to straightening, but only the front (the back is a little bit shorter than Kerrys so more textured and messy) again only 2 mins, And yes many some products are consumed!

I like the second one Tiggle posted, and also the Katona.

Keira looks cool because her eyebrows dominate her look - her hair is cut to enhance them. Your eyebrows are much less agressive and without them this cut could just look quite mimsy.

What about the hairdo Gwyneth Paltrow had in 'Sliding Doors?' Dramatic, still some hair to play with?

I think the last one in tiggie's links not only looks rather try-hard but would be virtually impossible to keep looking like that without your own personal stylist.

That carpet was choosen by another group of MNers late one night

I like the Jennifer |Hudson one best. The other two look good (at least if you forget one is KK) but I personally would be driven mad by a fringe actually in my eyes - specially if it's hot this summer. You and others might feel differently though.
