Is there such a thing as non-frumpy wide fit sandals?

I have wide feet and every year I struggle to find sandals that don't look like they belong in the M&S footglove range. It's a nightmare!
Flip flops and ballet shoes make me thud along like a baby elephant. Has ANYONE found the holy grail of decent, non-frumpy wide sandals. I dare you, double dare Grin

The trouble with Evans/New Look is they seem to be frequently a homage to synthetics - and, if you're like me and your feet are wide due to being i)Scottish and ii) overweight then in temperatures over 4 degrees celcius your feet will turn to blistered mush.

For me I need to drop a touch of cash.

birkenstocks?

they come in two width fittings...the coloured in foot picture is narrow, the outlined foot picture is wide. look at the footbed bit where your heel goes.

does that make sense at all?? HmmGrin

or, if you are desparate for a pair of knocking around comfies you could try crocs! ShockGrin

PS: This Isabella Oliver 365 shirt dress looks rather lovely and a size F is a 16-18. Any good to you?

I think that there's a Mumsnet discount.

Just wanted to say the Fly Pelia sandals are brilliant for wide feet - I got some yesterday from Next directory in the dark brown (£89), went online to see if there were other colours and discovered Amazon is selling the exact same shoe for £36! (Use the EASTER25 discount code). So needless to say, the Next ones went back and I got dark brown and also red from Amazon. Love them.
