Is there such a thing as non-frumpy wide fit sandals?

I have wide feet and every year I struggle to find sandals that don't look like they belong in the M&S footglove range. It's a nightmare!
Flip flops and ballet shoes make me thud along like a baby elephant. Has ANYONE found the holy grail of decent, non-frumpy wide sandals. I dare you, double dare Grin

These fit my wide feet.
I have them in two colours Blush

I have the same problem. Also inherited from my mum.

Have you looked at Simply Be? They do ranges in wider fitting.

My problem is that regular shoes are a little tight but wider fitting can come up a little loose.

sarkylady I was going to start a thread about Fly shoes because I noticed my local shoe shop is now stocking them. Glad to hear they fit wide feet. Must pop in and try some when I get a chance.

Evans do wide fitting shoes and sandals.

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 06/04/2011 20:20

I too have wide feet. I bought Fly platform sandals on Sunday. I lurve them, but they are too high for daily wear, so I am on the lookout for something lower.

These red wedges are gorgeous: www.shoetailor.com/shop/product/details/show.action?pdLpUid=AZ526&pdBoUid=3170&lpgUid=11140856#colour:0,size:

And I also like: www.shoetailor.com/shop/product/details/show.action?pdLpUid=AZ877&pdBoUid=3170&lpgUid=11140856#colour:1904,size:4 Although I am not a pink person...

These are the Fly Sandals. They fit me easily without being anywhere near the widest setting.

camper sandals fit my wide feet
duo do wide fitting shoes
next also have wider fit shoes - they were, incredibly, too wide for me Shock

fedupandfifty · 06/04/2011 20:27

Sarky - those are unbelievable! Just a question - are they going to be a bit heavy to wear in the heat? I've got wedgie boots and although they are super-comfy, they are quite heavy, which is fine for winter but maybe not for summer? I'm a wide 3 and normally need a 4 to account for my extra width. Would you stick to a 3 in a wide fit and stick on some shoe stretch?? Thanks!!

duckyfuzz · 06/04/2011 20:27

I love those red wedges florence

PureNewWoolWithPerfectStitches · 06/04/2011 21:00

I've tried Fly before and they weren't wide enough Blush Sad

There are some great Camper ones but they are ££££££££ Shock I may have to invest though....

Fedup...
I wouldn't say they were heavy, but i must confess they got a bit whiffy in the middle of summer as they have a fabric sole and don't have much ventilation iykwim :)

New Look do loads of wide fitting shoes/sandals. I struggled to find the non-wide foot section when I was there at the weekend.

PureNewWoolWithPerfectStitches · 06/04/2011 21:18

OOH!! Thanks BalloonSlayer, I'll try there, much better prices than Camper.

It might have to be a big branch. Ours is massive, on two floors, with a blokes section and everything.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 06/04/2011 21:21

I have wide feet and wobbly ankles Blush

These are very comfy

FellatioNelson · 06/04/2011 21:22

I don't know whether it is their usual thing, or a peculiar one-off, but I once bought some Fly shoes and they were very wide. So wide in fact, that I couldn't wear them as they fell off me after a few wears, and I usually can't get my feet into most standard width fashionable shoes!

FannyFifer · 06/04/2011 21:22

I have awful really wide flat feet with the added attraction of bunions.

I get shoes from Evans, and only last week bought a pair of wedge sandals from NewLook, I am usually a size 5 but found the 6 fitted perfectly.

BalloonSlayer · 06/04/2011 21:22

here

FellatioNelson · 06/04/2011 21:22

Oh. I see we've already discussed Fly!

FellatioNelson · 06/04/2011 21:25

I know it's dull, but Clarks usually come up trumps for wider feet. And they are really quite nice these days. Either that or I've got so old that I've finally grown to love them. Blush

saltyseadog · 06/04/2011 21:33

I love these:

Oxygen shoes

I promise you that they are absolutely not frumpy, so comfy and a big welcome break from the 3" heels I wear for work :).

PureNewWoolWithPerfectStitches · 06/04/2011 21:44

Fellatio - I've already been and rammed my feet into some Clarks sandals but they were too tight (I'm beginning to feel like one of the ugly sisters Grin). Oh and I did see some things I liked too

SaltySeaDog (any relation to Grandpa Dog?) - I do like their green boots. Unfortunately with great (fat) feet, comes great (fat) calves Blush Grin

Thankyou so much Florence! I have ordered those beautiful red wedges :)
Now if you could just find me a lovely blue shirt dress in a size 18 to go with them please!

I agree Clarks shoes are on the narrow side for me too.

saltyseadog · 06/04/2011 22:38

PNW - I only discovered their shoes recently. I am coveting their boots for winter .
