Zora dress is perfect for hiding a hat in. One big one or two small ones.

ShowOfHands · 29/03/2011 20:10

Ha! The urban outfitters one is very similar to what I'm wearing except mine's long. And I don't look like that model in it. I look like a freight carriage and tarp.

Themasterandmargaritas · 29/03/2011 20:11

Purple, yes purple is fine, but NO ferrets. I quite like purple velvet actually.

OMG Tills you are five foot SEVEN. Envy

Zora dress is perfect.

I hadn't thought about cold. Gulp. I only do tropical.

ShowOfHands · 29/03/2011 20:13

This is my favourite out of all of the links. Heels and bag, you'll knock 'em dead.

ShowOfHands · 29/03/2011 20:15

I'm also wearing a purple scarf. Velvet too. England is cold TMAM. But that catsuit will be fine with a parka and wellies over it.

I'm 5ft 3". And only just. Gin too. Tills will look so willowy.

I'll bring as many ferrets as I can fit in my hat thanks very much expat.

Tillyscoutsmum · 29/03/2011 20:20

I know I'm not allowed to lol, but I did actually splutter at willowy. More like Big Bird from Sesame Street

I'll stop by M&S and buy myself some thermals.

BelligerentGhoul · 29/03/2011 20:22

Yes, yes to that Zora dress. It looks fab.

But do try VW - I have the stomach of a pregnant hippo but she works for me!

ShowOfHands · 29/03/2011 20:25

Well it is fancy dress after all. Big Bird is retro. So's Michelle Pfeiffer in a catsuit though I couldn't see an outline of thermals on her as she rubbed up against Batman.

Jersey's quite flattering on a flabby tummy actually if you get the cut of it right. You don't have a flabby tummy though.

Arf.

Like I would know about fabric and cuts.

Themasterandmargaritas · 29/03/2011 20:28

You are sounding incredibly knowledgeable all of a sudden. The mention of ASOS almost floored me. Have you been watching too much daytime TV?

Cristiane · 29/03/2011 20:28

Wear this this one here

Tillyscoutsmum · 29/03/2011 20:31

Its huge honestly SOH. Two 10lb+ babies have made me look like I'm smuggling Sharpei puppies in my tummy.

I like that one Cristane. May take a trip to House of Fraser to try some of the Anglomania ones on

god i LOVE that striped VW one

ShowOfHands · 29/03/2011 20:32

I don't watch daytime tv. I stride across moors in jersey maxis. Gin told me about ASOS. It's cheap and has this really funny catwalk facility on each page. I spent hours chortling at it. [cheapdate]

I know all about fashion. I researched it for my book. One of the characters isn't an inbred yokel so it was necessary.

I know jersey. I started one thread in S&B an age ago and I'm recycling what I learnt from it in order to fit in. Is it working?

ShowOfHands · 29/03/2011 20:34

Don't buy that striped one. My Mum has it in the loft from last time it came round. It's probably survived well from 1984. If I can't find it for you, we've a deckchair in the shed I could doctor for you.

In HoF you can buy a cheese grater for £30. What do they take us for?

Cristiane · 29/03/2011 22:58

I have bought the VW one and never had so many compliments in my life

Am 5'6", size 12, big boobs, and it is very forgiving over my less than perfect tummy, and I feel amazing wearing it, it's gorgeous. One of th best dresses
I have ever bought

Cristiane · 29/03/2011 22:58

Sorry funny I-pad formatting there!

ShowOfHands · 29/03/2011 23:02

It reminds people of happy childhoods on Blackpool beach. And their favourite aged aunt's curtains.

Flakes · 29/03/2011 23:06

Drapey dresses are great- Honestly they are your friend. I also just found that M &S tummy control vests are effective and cheap-ish. £12. Make anything you put on feel better iykwim. I truly think this could be the key to most outfits. that and Doc Ms

QueeferSutherland · 29/03/2011 23:33

Anyone know what the All Saints sizing is like?

I've had my head turned by those frocks.

JamInMyWellies · 30/03/2011 09:04

Tilly You are gorge and no matter what you wear will look stylish.

SOH your eclectic styling is as much as you hate it very stylish.

TMAM you my love are like a petite gorgeous tropical thing with lovely legs.

I am coming in jeans and a tshirt. I may wear makeup just to make me look less like death.

Plus there is the added glam of PJ, TYG, GIN.

Although I do rather like that All Saints dress. Oh and I love the VW anglomania stuff.

ShowOfHands · 30/03/2011 10:51

I am hat shopping.

I want a flapper hat. DH suggests I don't. What does he know?

I am so unstylish I'm coming back round to stylish again.

Pinkjenny · 30/03/2011 12:27

It is not huge. I have seen it, remember Wink My faves are the Zora dress and the olive green number. You are beautiful, you know.

And yes, I may be glam, but I am also still quite fat.

Pinkjenny · 30/03/2011 12:28

I want that red VW dress. I wonder if dh would respond to begging.

ShowOfHands · 30/03/2011 12:56

Begging? You mean like actually consulting him? Oh no no no.

If he asks once you have it the response is 'yes darling, isn't it beautiful'. I presume the sport he goes off to watch is free? No? Buy the dress.
