I can hardly believe it myself, but I did!

I went to a seminar on "intimate male waxing' at the Professional Beauty show at the Excel Centre in London which featured a man having every hair in his pubic area waxed off. Everything.

The seminar was run by BABTEC and was extremely well executed - in other words, it wasn't a perv-fest. The session was intended for beauty professionals to learn how to overcome the fears and anxieties of performing an intimate male wax. The therapist (male) was fantastic and explained everything in the most professional possible way. The model was funny and friendly under the circumstances of having to literally bear all. He even got on all fours and had his bum waxed in front of 50 people. What a brick. He winced a few times but otherwise, managed the pain ok.

My interest in attending the seminar was to learn about pain management during an intimate wax. I asked the therapist during the Q & A about pain management and his answer was basically that " the best pain management is having a good relationship between the therapist and the client". He really didn't want to discuss it.

Hmmmm.

I'm interested to know the following things:

Do you use anything to reduce pain during waxing?
Do you think waxing hurts?
Is it becoming normal for men to wax their privates?

I spoke to a doctor recently who told me that she rarely sees female patients under the age of 30 with any pubic hair. As I'm well over 40, I am not of that era. I find bikini waxing painful and I think I have a solution for it which I am considering importing. I just don't think that the professionals are interested. But are the consumers?

Would you buy a product that could reduce your waxing pain if it were available?

I'm not a journalist, just a regular Mumsnetter with a business idea. I'd love to hear your opinions.

BTW, the guy's bits looked like a bit like chicken giblets after he'd had his gonads waxed. Can't imagine that many women would fancy it. Then again, my partner is definitely a man of the 70's (which leaves me nicely off the hook!).

Thanks for reading.

its something you get used to. yes, it hurts, but, since you want the results, you put up with it. and gettingit done professionally by someone who knows what they are doing, means it happens fast, and hurts far less than if you try to do it yourself.

I wouldnt buy a product to make it hurt less, as i can bear the pain because i want the results. iyswim

do i think in general we should resist this porno crap? yeah.
