Indulge me please - how old do I look to you?

People tell me (unprompted) I don't look my age but I'm never sure whether they are being polite or if not what age they think I am. How old would you have said I look? My pic is on my profile and I'm wearing tinted moisturizer if that helps.

I think having a big age gap between me and DH makes me a bit conscious about it Blush

I think that you look very good for 45yrs-and brave to ask! I would have said about 38/39 if I hadn't seen that you had answered.

ivykaty44 · 16/03/2011 22:49

34, but then I looked through the thread and saw your real age so will just have to say oh you look 45 so I can be correct and well guessed

MadameDefarge · 16/03/2011 22:52

late 20s, early thirties?

brimfull · 16/03/2011 22:52

ok am being brave
here's a pic of me
how old am I
bit of a rough day I'm afraid

exoticfruits · 16/03/2011 22:52

It all goes to prove that people don't read the whole thread!

MadameDefarge · 16/03/2011 22:54

Your skin is really good, but you are very fair, so that ages you beyond your years around the eyes. so spend money on lotions.

that's why peeps might think you older than you are.

FWIW, I am 47, an nobody thinks I am over 47, simply because due to genetics, I have no lines around my eyes, unless I smile, and even then not noticably crows feet.

You look gorgeous, whatever age.

Valpollicella · 16/03/2011 22:56

I can't find one that I can post that isn't 3+ years old

spiralqueen · 16/03/2011 22:58

ivykaty well guessed! Grin

Wow - I thought there might have been half a dozen replies not anywhere near this many. Thanks everybody for indulging me - looks like I might have started something.

well I was going for 35 so am very impressed!
If it's any consolation, my DH is 9y younger than me and people don't really notice because I don't look as old as I am and he looks older than he is. So they think we're both in our mid-late thirties! poor DH Grin

thumbwitch · 16/03/2011 23:00

Arcadie · 16/03/2011 23:03

Good work lady. What's the secret?

GORGEOUSX · 16/03/2011 23:03

LyraSilvertongue · 16/03/2011 23:05

spiralqueen · 16/03/2011 23:05

namechange 28/29

korma 28/29

MadameDefarge · 16/03/2011 23:10

I was sort of right!

yay! But I will repeat the mantra of sun cream sun cream, even in winter. the only thing that will stop skin damage.

La la la!

Oh apparently 90% of skin damage is caused by the sun before the age of 18. French women know this. We should we advising our daughters from an early age. Its the only beauty tip I will accept from the Frogs.

spiralqueen · 16/03/2011 23:10

Arcadie not a clue - must be down to luck/genetics. My half hearted attempts to get a skincare routine established have all failed miserably. Can rarely be bothered with makeup either - don't know whether that makes a difference.

Genetics. My mum was a Great Beauty and was way to slack to follow any kind of skin regime.

I am Not a Great Beauty (damn the woman for marrying a Very Ugly Man) But have somehow managed to keep the looking youngish genes.

polyhymnia · 16/03/2011 23:15

Spiralqueen - was going to answer, having only read first page, and going to say: 43-45, though you look great whatever your age.

I may have a bit of a knack for these things, as used to while awsy wasted moments in the office guessing ages and sharing the, usually correct, guesses with sometimes surprised colleagues who were also guessing. Not in a malicious or judging way (honest), just curious - or perhaps nosy some would say.

Also remember and have pix of how I looked in my 40s. People have always told me - like other posters - that I don't look my age. But, as someone (must check who) once said, that's what 40 - or 50 - or whatever- looks like nowadays.
