Read the Daily Mail much, Driftwood?Hmm

HalfTermHero · 07/03/2011 01:53

It happens and there for the grace of God go any of us. Certainly not worth getting your knickers in a twist over Smile.

fanjolamps · 07/03/2011 02:32

Driftwood is being unreasonable! What a fucking thing to say! People on benefits shouldn't be allowed to spend money on tattoos?? What utter bollocks, thank god your not in charge then! (And no I am not on benefits and neither do I have a tattoo)

OrangeBernard · 07/03/2011 05:29

My mate has a barcode tattooed on his leg. It's very cool.

patiencenotmyvirtue · 07/03/2011 07:56

The tatts are so when the lady is pulled out of the twisted wreckage, her kids will be able to say: Yeah, that's Mum.

SardineQueen · 07/03/2011 09:53

That's a really grotesque post patience. A really upsetting image you have painted for everyone there on a fairly innocuous thread.

Meggles76 · 07/03/2011 13:04

agree Sardine
The idea that lots of people on benefits spend their money on tattoos is a somewhat stereotypical view. When I read Driftwoods post, I also thought that the poster was saying that tattoos and benefits were a class thing. However, I know people from all walks of life with them.
I remain of the opinion that they look trashy - but it is just that - my opinion!

gregssausageroll · 07/03/2011 15:50

I have tattoos. I am educated, have a good career, nice house, nice car, travel frequently, eat at nice restaurants, no debt, some savings - does that make me a tramp?

TheGoddessBlossom · 07/03/2011 21:14

I have a tramp stamp. Acquired 12 years ago. Base of spine, quite like it, only annoyed that everyone now has one.

Recently had my mother's name ( which is a beautiful 9 letter name done in fine cursive script) tattooed between my shoulder blades. She is lost to me through alzheimers at the age of 66. It was a whim, wanted it done but can't really explain why. Am very happy with it.

I have a high powered, very well paid sales job in IT, wear suits everyday, n

TheGoddessBlossom · 07/03/2011 21:15

None of my, mostly male colleagues would ever guess I had 2 ratios.

Never presume to guess why people feel the need to do it, or assume they are benefit chavs....

TheGoddessBlossom · 07/03/2011 21:16

Ratios???? Damn predictive text... Tattoos....

patiencenotmyvirtue · 08/03/2011 07:11

The car crash reference was said to the face of a co-worker thinking of this step. A double-act by myself and someone else.

The "victim" howled with laughter.

Grotesque image? No more so than tatting your bod like that.

Light-hearted thread? Very judgy OP, saying the tatt-bearer was gopping. I happen to agree with the OP, too.

Sense of humour failure here. Yours, not mine. :o
