Would people mind updating their S&B threads, if they can ...

Tillyscoutsmum · 13/02/2011 18:32

Please ?

I love S&B. I love virtually shopping and virtually spending other people's money. Sometimes the OP will say they like some of my choices. Sometimes they hate them. Either is fine but I want to know what they decided to buy (if anything).

I admit I am a nosey sod with no life but I want to know what you ended up wearing to your wedding/christening/night out/black tie do.

So, can you please update your threads. Even if you come on and say you hated everything and ended up buying something totally different.

An S&B thread with no conclusion is like watching an episode of Grand Designs where they ran out of money and didn't finish the house.

Thank you Smile

Tulle you are truly gorgeous! lovely pics.

mrsbabookaloo · 13/02/2011 20:19

Ooh, will go and do this now. I wondered about getting back to people on my last S&B question, but I htought it was too boring and nerdy....and also it takes me so long to decide on buying sthg, that people would have forgotten about it.

Don't think you were on that one tillyscoutsmum, but will go and check.

tulpe · 13/02/2011 20:23

Gosh ladies, you are making me blush! But thank you for your kind words as I don't have a great deal of confidence.

I never would have bought that dress without a little encouragement from the S&B ladies. I always find red difficult but biting the bullet and trying it on made me realise that it really is about finding the perfect shade/tone for you.

Definitely a keeper :)

MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 20:25

Tulpe you also fit the category of 'chic brunette' on my other thread :)

TrillianAstra · 13/02/2011 20:27

You look wonderful Tulpe!

MarshaBrady · 13/02/2011 20:33

Tulpe you look wonderful! Like a magazine shot

MrsMeow · 13/02/2011 20:35

Oh I agree! And please whilst you're at it, could you acknowledge the people who have taken time to advise on something that you've asked, instead of totally ignoring them and bumping gums with those people that you know/who's advice you prefered/like more.

Thanks!

MrsMeow · 13/02/2011 20:39

Oh Tulpe, you looked amazing! I love red, and it really suits you :) What shoes/sandals did you wear? Can't make out if you have any on in the pic!

NorkyButNice · 13/02/2011 20:52

Thanks for the reminder - I shall indeed go back and update my responders (or should that be respondees?) as to what I've bought.

Hopefully lots of people who didn't actually see the thread first time round will give me some extra help as I'm still struggling!

tulpe · 13/02/2011 20:54

MrsMeow - we were barefoot for the entire holiday! Usually I wear flat strappy gold leather flats though with that dress.

AintMissBeehiving · 13/02/2011 20:58

Tulpe - you look wonderful Smile

MrsMeow · 13/02/2011 21:04

Bet that did you feet the world of good, sand is great for buffing dry skin off! Gold flats sound lovely - think I'll hunt out a red maxi this year. It took me so long to find one last year that it was the end of the summer before I settled for one. It's still in my wardrboe with the tags on Blush

VerityBrulee · 13/02/2011 21:24

Tulpe you look amazing Smile Your dh really came up trumps there, lucky you!

JaneS · 14/02/2011 01:20

tilly - yes, my mum was the East-buyer. She ended up with a gray dress from East, but she was happy and I now have a big list of good places to take her next time she wants something (and a few for me, too!).

belligerent - Ok then! Grin

I bought:
a shedload of MAC stuff (tinted moisturiser, concealer, eyeliner, creme eyeshadow, powder eyeshadow, blusher ...). A couple of new eye pencils (forget where in Boots), couple of new nail polish colours. And some decent brushes! I need to buy new hair stuff now I think, since the Big Hair Wonder Thingy isn't doing that much for me and I suspect I need more product-y stuff. (Yes, I am going to try the Argan oil stuff).

Grin

My credit card is tired now and it sounds quite little when I write it down!

KristinaM · 14/02/2011 04:34

LRD, I remember you shopping with your mum, hope you looked great and had a lovely time

Tulle, I am SOOOOOjealous of your holiday.and you look fab. I don't think you should do the same thing for DHs 40th though. Do something totally different , like going on safari and in a hot air balloon over the seregeti . The re run is never quite the sameGrin

blossoming · 14/02/2011 10:16

Note to self: buy red maxi. You look wonderful tulpe.

JaneS · 14/02/2011 10:53

Seconded, blossoming! Bloody hell, tulpe, I am sooo envious. You look stunning.

(And thanks Kristina - we had a lovely time and I did edge mum towards trying on some other stuff than East, so it's progress!)

AbsDuCroissant · 14/02/2011 11:32

Oooh - tulpe, you look AMAZING.

I've wanted to go forever to the Maldives (particularly after a colleague spent a week cruising on a yacht around there and told us tales of fresh seafood, swimming in warm waters and generally being happy) and that gave me the impetus to send DP pictures "for your consideration" (he apparently doesn't like island holidays). Let's see if it works ...

Howmanytimes · 14/02/2011 12:39

What a great idea!

I asked for opinions on a few items a personal shopper got me to buy last November.

I didn't keep any of them. Back went the Wallis leather skirt, the Mango fur gilet (it was the womble comment that did it!) and the phase eight dress. I don't regret not keeping them.

traceybath · 14/02/2011 18:40

Howmanytimes - I have a suspicion I made the womble comment [grin[

BelligerentGhoul · 14/02/2011 19:15

LRD - well done you! What's the Mac concealer like?

ShowOfHands · 14/02/2011 19:22

I started an s&b thread once. I updated in great detail about my trip to h&m. But in that case I think nobody cared.

BelligerentGhoul · 14/02/2011 19:25

Wasn't it you with the maxi dress thread? We ALL cared! :)

ShowOfHands · 14/02/2011 19:29

Well remembered Ghoul.

traceybath · 14/02/2011 19:34

Oh SOH you are being a monkey - I still smile at the thought of your puddling dress Smile
