I can see that I need to add bootleg jeans to the list (although I don't wear these with heels, only with converse)

anything else... Grin

sleeveless tops with dinner lady arms
wedge trainers
nighties / pjs with cutesy animals on front
polo necks with big norkage
duffle coats on adults
shiny tights on sausagey legs
cheap "interesting" jewelry....

catinboots · 04/02/2011 15:16

Cuppateajanice - I'm totally with you on the pumps making our arse look huge.

I think that the chunkier the thigh, the chunkier the shoe or boot should be. A dainty little pump just accentuates a chunky thigh. I personally think I look better in a sturdy biker boot. Pumps just make my lower half look like a piece of pie (ie a big triangle)

JustShaggingForNow · 04/02/2011 15:32

shorts & leggings
smock tops - you just look pregnant! (totally acceptable if you actually are pregnant/just given birth)
Whale tails - Shudders!

controlfreakyhappyandnew · 04/02/2011 15:34

what's a whales tail?

plasticface · 04/02/2011 15:41

I don't know care whether these things are "in" or "out" but here goes:

animal print

cork wedges

PONCHOS!

capes

handbags with gold chain straps

belts/chains printed onto sheer blouses

shoe-boots with peep toes!!!! Who the hell thought that was a good idea?

jumpsuits

short sleeved coats

CuppaTeaJanice · 04/02/2011 15:43

Grin catinboots This company would be delighted with your shoe/arse size theory!!

What the hell is a whale tail Justshagging? Is it similar to a camel toe or ducks arse?

Gogopops · 04/02/2011 15:44

Fleeces.

Especially the woolf fleece here

Reminds me of the apprentice. Ha Ha

Huffymuffy · 04/02/2011 15:50

My MIL would love a wolf fleece, they sell them at our local market, but I did not expect that price tag!!

I hate MBTs or any other built up type flip flop or shoe. They look awful not to mention dangerous!

muggglewump · 04/02/2011 15:51

Any pants which are visible in any way.
Poppy out thongs, VPL, and the worst of all-gusset syndrome.

Mid, block heeled, black boots, particularly bad when worn with bootcut jeans.

Fleeces.

Ponytails on anyone over 30.

Pigtails on anyone over 20.

Jeggings on anyone over a size 12, and only then if they are tall.
Shorties must be under a size 2, and then will still look crap.

Disney clothing.

Peep toe shoes with tights.

Collapsed Ugg boots.

I will be back.........

muggglewump · 04/02/2011 15:53

Fuck me, £60 notes to wear that monstrous fleeceShock

My friend wants one. I laughed and told her it's because she's old and a bit naff.
She probably hates me, but is not buying one now.
It was for her own goodGrin

GetOrfMoiLand · 04/02/2011 16:02

Playsuits worn by anyone other than a size 6 teenager.

'Nail art' or any kind of ott manicure/extra long talons.

Too much foundation and mad mascara a la tarantula legs.

Supermarket cashmere - it looks fine when brand new, but doesn't age at all well.

Cheap Dorothy Perkins and Next pinstripe suits. Especially trouser suits.

Trousers worn with high heeled court shoes.

trsouers which are too short.

Plump women wearing baggy cardigans which bunch up over their fat rolls at the back

fartmeistergeneral · 04/02/2011 16:07

STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!

What's wrong with bootleg jeans?

fartmeistergeneral · 04/02/2011 16:09

What jeans are OK then?

Skinny?? Surely only worn by a certain size?
Straight leg - a bit 'George at Asda'?
Flared? - health hazard (have myself tripped over my own flares Blush)

JustShaggingForNow · 04/02/2011 16:24

whale tails - classy!!!

CuppaTeaJanice · 04/02/2011 16:29

Ah, that's a whale tail! Makes you want to grab the top of the thong and give it a good tug, leaving the silly cow with a wedgie!!

Housemum · 04/02/2011 17:25

If you still feel the need for waterfall cardigans Fifty Plus - my mum asked me to order a catalogue from Fifty Plus, they have 16 of them to choose from! The name says it all... I'm far too young for one (well, not "far" )

voiceofnoreason · 04/02/2011 17:28

boak at whale tail

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 04/02/2011 17:34

Plastic bra straps (we can still see them!)
Sensible court shoes with a little square heel - do flats or a propr heel.
Footgloves - do they still exist?!
Too matchy-matchy, ie pink shoes, pink bag, pink belt, pink wrap. Often seen at weddings.
Combat trousers.

I wouldn't wear bootcut jeans either. It should be skinny/straight leg or give up and wear leggings or dresses or skirts.

TrillianAstra · 04/02/2011 17:34

I don't believe any of those moedls are actually 50plus

Housemum · 04/02/2011 17:39

None of them look like my mum that's for sure! Actually, looking at the green cardi it looks like the sort of thing my "smart friend" (the one with no kids, funnily enough) wears and I always think she looks stylish. Maybe it's just because she does her make up all the time and has no snot trails on her trousers...

moragbellingham · 04/02/2011 17:39

trolly when did that Wine wine glass appear!!!!??

MerylStrop · 04/02/2011 17:43

black worn with pale denim

double denim unless Agnyess Deyn

anything from Next, but especially and particularly trouser suits

french manicure on toenails

muggglewump · 04/02/2011 18:18

Yy, to french manicured toenails.
If they are long enough to be french manicured, they need cut.

Double denim fine, at 80's theme party.

Sensible heels.......[snort]
My mother wore them, but then she also liked Ecco shoes and Country Casuals, which says it all really.

She once bought a pair of jeans and though she was trendy. They were from M&S, purple and came with a matching polka dot blouse.
Blouse.
Blouse

muggglewump · 04/02/2011 18:20

Oh and she bought some combats in silk, also from M&S.
I laughed at her and told her she was wearing her combat pyjamas, and I think it's best we don't start on the weird scarf/toga debacle.
